with mitigations. Since the City does not have jurisdiction over this site, it is not
considered further.
d. Offsite Alternative 2: The DEIR evaluated a vacant parcel located within the City
of Redwood City at Oracle Parkway and Marine Parkway. This site is near the
entry of the Oracle Campus and the Bay Trail public park. Given the shape and
size of the parcel, the project at this location would have to be redesigned with a
taller, more compact project design, which may include structured or offsite
parking. This option would not meet all of the project objectives and would
generate impacts beyond those identified for the proposed project.
e. Onsite Relocation: The DEIR evaluated the potential to relocate the proposal on
surface parking lots within the Oracle campus. Given the shape and size of these
areas, the project would have to be redesigned with a taller, more compact
project design. It would also remove parking required for the Oracle Campus.
This would result in less impacts to sensitive habitats and protected species;
however construction related impacts on water quality and soil erosion would be
comparable. This option would not meet all of the project objectives and would
generate impacts beyond those identified for the proposed project.
Summary of Findings Regarding Alternatives
For all of the foregoing reasons, the Planning Commission has determined to approve the
Project instead of one of the alternatives to the Project.
Findings Regarding Adequacy of Range of Alternatives
The Planning Commission finds that the range of alternatives evaluated in the EIR reflects a
reasonable attempt to identify and evaluate various types of alternatives that would potentially
be capable of reducing the Project environmental effects while accomplishing most, but not all
of the project objectives. The Planning Commission finds that the alternatives analysis is
sufficient to inform the Planning Commission and the public regarding the tradeoffs between the
degree to which alternatives to the Project could reduce environmental impacts and the
corresponding degree to which the alternatives would hinder the City's ability to achieve the
Project Objectives.
ATTY/RES0.0036/PC RESO CERTIFYING EIR—ORACLE DESIGN TECH HIGH SCHOOL
REV:04-29-16 VR
