Council Member Bain <br /> said that he did not believe the choices were befinreen safety and speed, or leaving the <br /> project midway or completing it. His view was that the project would be completed and <br /> data would be gathered during the given time frame and that he did not want to leave an <br /> impression that it was going to be stopped half-way through. Council Member Bain said <br /> he agreed with the member of the community who suggested the project be broken into <br /> sections, with data gathered at each point to determine what works best for particular <br /> parts of the road. <br /> Council Member Howard said she liked the suggestion of using Peninsula Conflict <br /> Resolution Center to help facilitate community meetings regarding this project. This <br /> Council Member suggested the use of local agencies to help educate local community <br /> members regarding safety in driving, bicycling and even walking through neighborhood <br /> streets, including Farm Hill Boulevard. <br /> Council Member Seybert said he did not believe there was a safe location along Farm <br /> Hill Boulevard where stop lights/signs could be used without causing further congestion. <br /> His preference is to see reports of the cost of law enforcement issuing citations for <br /> violations along the road when enforcement was needed elsewhere for more serious <br /> crimes. He would like members of the community to help educate each other regarding <br /> traffic violations instead of relying solely on the city to supply that education. <br /> '"�! <br /> Council MemberAguirre thanked Aron Aknin for the presentation and also members of } <br /> the Police Department who continue to supply law enforcement along the roads and .�ri <br /> who assist in public safety on a daily basis. Ms. Aguirre acknowledged the notification <br /> issue and said that in the future she would like to see more notifications to members of <br /> the community and others who utilize major roads throughout Redwood City. <br /> Vice Mayor Foust asked if the data that had been compiled thus far, including the <br /> comments received from members of the public could be placed on the City website. <br /> Aron Aknin said that information would be placed on the website and any additional <br /> information that could prove helpful to members of the community would also be added. <br /> Vice Mayor Foust asked if data could be provided regarding the company Box, which is <br /> located in downtown Redwood City, and how many of their employees were arriving to <br /> and leaving work each day that might be impacting traffic congestion.
