Vice Mayor Foust would like to get all the information on the last three settlements and she
would like to better understand them and then look at the options. She asks about what is the
process once the cap for office space is met. Mr. Aknin explained that other types of space can
be built, residential, retail, and hotel. He also explains that there is a process for projects over
the cap. She also commented on affordable housing being a problem in San Mateo County. She
would like the traffic analysis information to come back. She would like the height to be looked
at but she is not sure if a shorter building is the answer.
Vice Mayor Foust really appreciated everyone's input on the project.
M/S Seybert/Pierce to extend the meeting to 11:15 p.m. Motion carries by unanimous voice
vote.
Council Member Pierce asked that Mr. Aknin connect with the San Mateo County on what they
are doing regarding expanding their campus and share with them the push back what the City is
hearing from the community.
Mayor Gee asked about the timing of the settlement and Mr. DoStart said that they got hopeful
two weeks ago to make it happen. Mr. DoStart also said that the settlements did not come from
Council at all.
Mayor Gee said the newsletter is coming back and this printed newsletter is an important tool to
stay informed. Mayor Gee said he had to go back and read the Precise Plan and shared the
guiding principles. The Mayor complimented everybody for their input and he would like to take
a look at what has been submitted and look at all the issues and review the documents. Mr.
Aknin clarified that staff is to bring back the 105 foot alternative with a full analysis, look at
parking and heights, and a potential for an increased set back on one side of the building.
8.
