Multi-space Meter Upgrade — Premium Zone <br /> 1.2 PARKING METER UPGRADE — VALUE ZONE <br /> This optional task specifies the upgrade and replacement of existing single space meters in the area <br /> defined as the "Value Zone." The City will accept smart meter technology or the equivalent for parking <br /> equipment upgrade in this zone. This section describes the specifications for the single space smart <br /> meter option. The proposer should follow the specifications in Section III for multi space meters should <br /> they determine Multi-space meters (MSMs) are the preferred replacement equipment in the Value <br /> Zone. <br /> A. The upgrade of the parking meters in the value zone shall meet the following minimum <br /> requirements: <br /> 1. General <br /> a. All materials and components of the meter shall be new and unused, <br /> unless Proposer can reasonably demonstrate ability to reuse the City's <br /> existing meter housing. <br /> =acierigt <br /> The M5 single-space parking meter is designed to retrofit the City's existing , -- ir�v i <br /> meter housing. The meter mechanism is composed of all new materials and . '-p Q° <br /> components. <br /> b. Meters and associated systems shall comply with all applicable ADA <br /> regulations. -- <br /> IPS complies. The M5 is fully compliant with all ADA regulations. <br /> c. Meters shall have a modular design such that meter components shall be <br /> able to be exchanged or replaced in the field in less than 10 minutes. <br /> IPS complies. <br /> d. All electronic components, connections, CPU and wiring shall be fully weatherproofed for their <br /> useful life. <br /> IPS complies. All PCBs and connectors are conformal coated to protect against moisture. <br /> e. The proposed mechanism shall be equipped with a minimum of two Secure Access Memory (SAMs) <br /> sockets capable of accepting card schemes. <br /> The IPS pay-station already has the ability to accept two SAM based cards, but would require additional <br /> software development for specified card schemes or other transit cards. <br /> 1.
