6.1.A. - Page 2
Consequently, PWS released a request for proposal (RFP) for street sweeping services
in April 2016. Staff received two proposals by the May 11, 2016 deadline.
Contractor Bid Amount*
1 Contract Sweeping Services $266,793.00
2 Clean Street $412,958.00
*The bid amount is calculated using the unit price provided by each bidder for the same level of service.
Staff reviewed proposals for cost, level of service, completeness, and responsiveness.
Based on these criteria, staff recommends awarding the contract to Contract Sweeping
Services for submitting the lowest responsible and responsive bid. Contract Sweeping
Services is well acquainted with the City's street sweeping program, having assisted the
City during the trial period, and staff is confident in contractor's ability to meet street
sweeping program requirements.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may choose not to approve the agreement and direct staff to modify or
consider alternative options.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Special Gas Tax Street Improvement Fund for fiscal year
2016-17.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines, section
15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or foreseeable physical
change in the environment.
TERENCE KYAW
ASSISTANT PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
