<br /> REPORT: Finance Director, September 28, 1992 <br /> Assistant Finance Director Ponty presented the staff report and described e . .- <br /> the plans to integrate transfer and recycling programs with the acquisition <br /> of adjacent property, extension of the agreement with BFI from 1994 to 1999, <br /> and how the City will now meet its AB 939 goals. Director Ponty explained <br /> the reasons for the increase are due to higher land fill and operating <br /> costs, but will still be competitive. <br /> In response to Council questions, City Manager Everett explained the two <br /> operations of the land fill division and the collection division, and how <br /> they impact one another; and, Director Ponty described the negotiating <br /> process. <br /> Maureen Riordan, Senior Planner, described demands of AB 939 and the number <br /> of bills pending in the legislature that might affect the cost. <br /> TITLE READ.
