Council members suggested adding~,a.:~member of the Architectural Review Committee and an experienced developer with good financial background to the evaluation committee; and discussed the need for stability, the particular history of the 811 Whipple Avenue site, and the neighborhood preference for owner-occupied housing. MEMO 9/29/92 Charlie Greer, Chairman of the Housing and Human Concerns Committee, described the committee's goal of building housing that will fit into the neighborhood, be a good mix, and be architecturally pleasing. Chairman Greer described the discussions the committee had regarding rental housing or owner-occupied, profit or non-profit developers, and the need for good management. Councilman Greenalch described the Project Read Trivia Bee held last Friday night at Canada College and thanked team members Councilman Murray, and especially Councilwoman Buchan who so ably led their team. Counc i1 man Greenalch announced that the Trivia Bee had raised $25,000 for Project Read, and that it was won by a team from SRI International. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- E. Councilman Murray reported on the first meeting of the School Facilities Advisory Board with the Belmont School Board to develop a consensus. The Belmont School Board is considering three options at the moment: 1) reopen Cipriani, 2) add students to each school, or 3) open a new campus in Redwood Shores. Councilman Murray explained Basic Aid District and advised that Belmont School District is a Basic Aid District and Redwood City School District is not. Councilman Murray advised he is supporting the third option and will continue to meet and report back to the Council. Mayor La Berge announced that at the Council of Cities Meeting last Friday, she had been appointed to the San Mateo County Childrens Executive Council and would report on its progress in the near future.
