B. Discussions of San Mateo County Advisory Measures Band C.
M/S: BUCHAN/GREENALCH TO REMOVE THIS ITEM FROM THE AGENDA DUE TO THE
ACTIONS OF THE SAN MATEO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AND THE POSSIBILITY
THAT THE MEASURES WOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE BALLOT.
CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE.
MINUTE ORDER NO. 92-163
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C. Vice Mayor Bury referred to the letter sent to the City Clerk from Mrs.
Bonnie Miller, Co-chair, Citizens for Common Sense, requesting determination
of the legal domicile of Daniel P. Levin, candidate for Member, City Council
of Redwood City.
CONSENSUS: It was determined by Mayor La Berge that it was the consensus of
the Council to refer the letter to the City Attorney and direct the City
Attorney to provide as quick a response as possible.
MEMO 10/6/92
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D. Councilman Greenalch remarked on the excellent job done by Redwood City
Interim General Services Director Ed Taylor, how gracious Mr. Taylor was in
accepting the decision of the City Manager, and what a great working
relationship Mr. Taylor and Mr. Ingram have developed.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
E. Councilman Greenalch stated he and the other Councilmembers do not want to
get involved in any campaign matters, but felt troubled about the
proliferation of illegally placed political signs throughout the Cjty.
Councilman Greenalch advised that on Saturday, October 3, 1992 City staff
removed 55 illegal signs and took them to the Municipal Services Center.
Councilman Greenalch advised that many of the signs were placed by a
commercial firm whose response to requests for observance of the City sign
ordinance was "sue me." Councilman Greenalch asked all candidates to obey
the sign ordinance and tell their distributors to do so as well.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
F. Councilman Murray congratulated Mayor La Berge and Warren Dale on their
wedding last Saturday, October 3, 1992 and expressed his regrets for not
being able to attend. Councilman Murray also thanked the Mayor for agreeing
to filling in for him at the very important C/CAG meeting on October 8,
1992.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G. Councilman Murray reported on the 2nd meeting of the Belmont School
Facilities Committee and the agreement on procedures. Councilman Murray
advised he would continue to report back to Council on the actions of the
Committee.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Regular Meeting Minutes
October 5, 1992
Page 6
MINUTE BOOK NO. 51
Page No. 216
