EXHIBIT "A" <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE <br />Contractor will perform street cleaning services for the City according to the City's street <br />cleaning schedule and routes. Contractor may be requested to provide additional <br />services by written request from the City. <br />I. Definitions and Terms <br />Curb Mile — A curb mile is defined as the distance the machine sweeper travels with <br />an effective sweeping width of eight (8) feet from the curb face along an improved <br />street. In all cases, any reduction in sweeping width from the defined eight (8) feet <br />will result in a corresponding percentage deduction in the price paid per curb mile; <br />e.g. if the effective sweeping width is four (4) feet, payment will be 50 percent (50%) <br />of cost per curb mile. <br />Emeroencv Service — That service which can be requested by the City to be <br />performed outside the bounds of the scheduled service within two (2) hours of being <br />notified to provide such service. <br />Leaf Season — The five months of the year when leaf fall is the heaviest. This period <br />typically runs from October to February. This timeframe is subject to change, and will <br />be communicated to the Contractor by Public Works staff. <br />Street Debris — All loose, inert, dry waste material including refuse, dirt, rocks, sticks, <br />sand, glass, metal fragments, cans, bottles, leaves and typical street litter. Street <br />debris does not include waste materials in the catch basins of storm drains. <br />Sweegina Path — Specified paved surface distance from curb line or pavement edge <br />in which scheduled service is to be performed. <br />Scheduled Service — Sweeping frequency as defined in the contract documents <br />which must be performed according to the schedule set forth in the contract <br />documents. <br />Unscheduled Service — Service which can be requested by the City to be performed <br />outside the bounds of the scheduled service, which can be anticipated a minimum of <br />twenty-four (24) hours in advance. <br />II. Street Sweeping Service <br />Scheduled Service - Contractor will furnish scheduled sweeping service <br />for those streets designated by the City in Exhibit B. All designated streets <br />require sweeping along the curb and gutter, and some streets also require <br />sweeping along the median curb and intersections.
