<br /> Page 3 <br />The San Mateo County Historical Association requests that the Redwood City Cultural Commission <br />grant funding for a new exhibition commemorating America’s entry into World War II, seventy-five <br />years ago. The presentation, entitled “Peninsula at War: San Mateo County’s World War II Legacy” <br />will open December 7, 2016. Displays will focus on the important activities that took place in san <br />Mateo County during the War and how the experiences of many people were microscopic of the <br />larger American Experience. <br />Funding Requested: $6,250 Funding Recommended: $3,000. <br /> <br /> <br />Sequoia Art Group. Sequoia Art Group is a large group of local artists who are interested in art <br />education and promotion in the community. They also hold an annual Spring Art Show and have <br />requested funding for their 54th annual art show to be held in May 2017. The art show is open to <br />adult entries and student entries (grades 6-12) and prizes are awarded to the winners. This grant <br />will help cover operating costs for their 2015 show. <br />Funding Requested: $1,400 Funding Recommended: $1,400. <br /> <br /> <br />The Northern California Bluegrass Society. This group is planning to hold their multi-day <br />Bluegrass Festival in downtown in January 2017. It will feature music performances and a film <br />festival featuring bluegrass music documentaries. This grant request is to help with production <br />costs for the festival. <br />Funding Requested: $2,000 Funding Recommended: $1,500. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />6.1.A. - Page 6
