<br /> Page 2 <br />Peninsula Symphony musicians into the schools to provide education to more than 1,200 students. <br />Their grant request will provide funding for the Bridges to Music program to community locations <br />and elementary schools in Redwood City. <br />Funding Requested: $6,000 Funding Recommended: $2,500. <br /> <br /> <br />Redwood City Community Theatre. Redwood City Community Theatre promotes auditions and <br />production participation to teens and to the adult and senior community through contacts in other <br />community theaters and locations. Funds requested are to provide funding for the musical theater <br />production of “Catch Me If You Can” drawing a cast from Redwood City and surrounding <br />communities. <br />Funding Requested: $3,000 Funding Recommended: $1,750. <br /> <br /> <br />Redwood City Education Foundation. Redwood City Education Foundation’s mission is to assist <br />the Redwood City School District in preserving the music program in all schools in the District. This <br />funding request is to provide music education to 5,000 students in grades 1-5 during School Year <br />2016-2017. <br />Funding Requested: $10,000 Funding Recommended: $10,000. <br /> <br /> <br />Redwood City International. <br />Redwood City International is a group which serves as the Sister City Committee for Redwood City. <br />They also sponsor Fiestas de Patrias to honor the ethnic heritage of our Latin American residents. <br />This grant will help fund the costs for their September 2016 event at the Courthouse Square. <br />Funding Requested: $1,500 Funding Recommended: $1,000. <br /> <br /> <br />Redwood City Police Activities League. <br />Redwood City Police Activities League’s mission is to provide positive programs for at-risk youth in <br />the community. Their annual Blues Festival is a fundraising event to fund the cost of these <br />programs. The grant request is to help with operating costs for their July 2016 event. To further <br />engage the community, two assemblies featuring festival musicians will take place at the PAL <br />community center in the Friendly Acres neighborhood. <br />Funding Requested: $5,000 Funding Recommended: $2,000. <br /> <br /> <br />Redwood City Parks & Arts Foundation <br />The Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation exists to advocate, advance, and develop support for <br />parks, recreational programming, community services, cultural activities, and the arts in Redwood <br />City. The grant request is for three upcoming events/programs; the third annual Chalk Full of Fun <br />on the 4th of July, Project CATA, and the Secret Garden, Sesquicentennial Celebration. <br />Funding Requested: $10,000 Funding Recommended: $4,500. <br /> <br /> <br />Redwood Symphony <br />Redwood Symphony is well-known as a creative community orchestra that delivers spirited, high- <br />quality performances of ambitious orchestral music in an innovative, and entertaining format. <br />Funds requested are to provide funding for their annual family concert where families with you <br />children are especially encouraged to attend, in costume, as the date falls just before Halloween as <br />well as their free outdoor family concert on the courthouse square. <br />Funding Requested: $3,500 Funding Recommended: $2,500. <br /> <br /> <br />San Mateo County Historical Association <br />6.1.A. - Page 5
