with a rock band and a salsa band to close the event out. We will invite
the Tutu School on Main along with Studio S do a dance number along
with a car show, boutique, kids’ corner with a Jump House and a Beer &
Wine Booth. Ralph’s Vacuum and Sewing Center will host a Fashion
Show showing the clothing and other items that the children and teen
agers have made in their sewing classes. A Walking Tour of Main
Street would also be a great addition using the Wells Fargo kiosk,
having the tour of Main and they can continue the tour on their own at
a later day. We might be able to get docents from the History
Museum to help with this portion of the event. Miss Redwood City will
join us and get involved in the community fun at the festival. An idea
of having a photo booth has been made and will be looked into to see if
this is possible.
We want the merchants on Main to participate and help with this
event. Ideas we have so far are Angelica’s help with the music as they
are the entertainment connection on Main, Tequila Tasting at D Tequila
Lounge, Whiskey Tasting at Martin’s West and seeing what the other
businesses might want to do. The Striped Pig can name one of their
wonderful craft cocktails for this event.
We will be seeking sponsorships for this event – we would ask the City
to sponsor the banners for the Jefferson overpass and Public Works
corner of Broadway and Woodside Road. This would consist of three
banners if we are allowed two on Jefferson. There are businesses on
Main Street that would help sponsor this event too.
This event would be presented by the Redwood City Downtown Business
Group and the board supports this event. It will be managed by Diane
Cusimano, Ralph Garcia and Regina Van Brunt.
The Downtown Business Group currently handles the Annual Restaurant
Week, Beer & Wine Booth at the Summer Concert Series, Annual
6.1.M. - Page 4
