PROPOSAL FOR ANNUAL MAIN STREET MUSIC FESTIVAL
DOWNTOWN REDWOOD CITY 2016

The proposed date of this event will be Saturday, October 15th, 2016
on Main Street beginning at 12 Noon and going until 8 PM.
Main Street is our historical walking district in our Downtown. For a
long time the businesses on Main Street have been wanting an annual
event all their own. This brought about 1000 people downtown to Main Street
but this is not an annual festival and is not returning this year.
We are proposing an annual event on Main Street one a year to invite
the community to see what Main Street is all about and support the
businesses on Main Street. We want the businesses to participate and
also have a financial interest in this event.
Currently Diane Cusimano from D Tequila Lounge and Ralph Garcia from
Ralph’s Vacuum Sewing Center along with Regina Van Brunt from the
Downtown Business Group are working on the concept and as soon as
the event is approved by the City Manager’s office and City Council we
will reach out to the merchants on Main Street and move forward with
the event planning and making it a reality.
The new annual event on Main Street will include music – we will invite a
couple of the local high schools to participate in the music portion along
6.1.M. - Page 3
