A typical way to obtain <br />the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: <br /> <br />Experience (Assistant City Attorney): <br /> <br />Five years of progressively responsible law experience as a practicing <br />attorney in the State of California. Experience in a municipal government <br />setting with extensive litigation is desirable. <br /> <br />Experience (Senior Assistant City Attorney) <br /> <br />Ten years of progressively responsible law experience as a practicing <br />attorney in the State of California, including five years as a practicing attorney <br />within a public agency. Experience in a municipal government setting with <br />extensive experience serving as a legal advisor to an appointed or elected <br />body. Experience managing litigation is desirable. <br /> <br />Training: <br />Equivalent to a Juris Doctor from an American Bar Association accredited <br />law school. <br /> <br /> <br />6.3.D. - Page 16
