1. BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS
A. Accept the resignations of Jim Hartnett from the Housing and Human Concerns
Committee; Patricia Wright from the Traffic Committee; Martha Kwasnikow from
the Fair Oaks Community Center Advisory Board; and Dave Schutz from the
Civic Cultural Commission, all with deepest regrets, but many thanks for a
job well done. (302-01,09,-10,-14)
Council accepted the resignations of the above mentioned board, committee
and commission members.
MEMO 3/23/93
Mayor Buchan presented plaques in honor of distinguished service to Jim
Hartnett and Dave Schutz, and advised that the other plaque would be
presented at a later date.
MEMO 3/23/93
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
City Attorney Schricker spoke to the issue of Council's invitations to the
Planning Commission meeting tomorrow where a scoping session on Pacific
Shores Center will take place, and again reminded Council, out of an excess
of caution, that the Brown Act prohibitions prevail and Councilmembers
should not engage in discussions of the proposals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. STAFF REPORTS
A. Policy regarding application for funding from HUD through the HOME Program
(203-04)
REPORT: Community Development Director, March 11, 1993
Housing Director Church and Housing Coordinator Jones-Thomas presented the
staff report and advised that although it was a close call, it was their
belief the City would receive more funds by applying individually than if
they applied with the County consortium as in the past, and that present
staffing could adequately handle the additional administrative duties. In
response to Council questions, Mrs. Jones-Thomas described the set aside
funds, entitlements, mortgage tax credit programs, and the process by which
non-profit organizations would participate in the HOME program in Redwood
City.
M/S: STEINFELDIGREENALCH TO APPROVE REDWOOD CITY'S INDEPENDENT APPLICATION
FOR FUNDING FROM HUD THROUGH THE HOME PROGRAM.
CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE.
MINUTE ORDER NO. 93-041
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9.
