<br /> RESOLUTION NO. 11957 ADOPTING INTERIM HOUSING RELOCATION BENEFIT <br /> GUIDELINES PURSUANT TO REDWOOD CITY CODE SECTION 42.10 <br /> MOTION CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 93-050 <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> Mayor Buchan declared a recess at 9:10 p.m. <br /> Meeting reconvened at 9:15 p.m. <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> (Councilman Claire left the Meeting at this time.) <br /> 2) Income levels used to define affordability <br /> Housing and Economic Development Specialist John Svoboda used overhead <br /> transparencies and explained affordability criteria; number and kinds of <br /> units that can be developed based on criteria established by Council; <br /> income categories based on annual income; trend of incomelpurchase price <br /> of single family dwellings 1910-1990; and low income households in <br /> Redwood City requiring rent subsidies. <br /> 3) Status of Housing projects. <br /> Housing Director Church described completed, in-progress, and planned <br /> developments for low and moderate income housing and temporary housing <br /> in Redwood City. Completed developments include Heron Court, Redwood <br /> Shores Apartments, Cas a de Redwood, Redwood Commons, Redwood Plaza, <br /> PinelMiddlefield HIP project, Redwood Court, Hope House, Daybreak <br /> Shelter, Stambaugh/Main rehabilitated units, Redwood City Founding House <br /> Shelter, and four Kainos projects. In-progress include Whipple Lodge and <br /> Douglas Street. Planned developments include CedarlHilton, Trestine, <br /> Mainl Middlefield, and RMC Lonestar. <br /> Councilwoman Steinfeld suggested more owner occupied housing should be <br /> developed in the downtown area, and Councilwoman La Berge suggested <br /> that higher densities in the downtown area might make more sense <br /> environmentally and economically.
