Joanne Bruggemann, Planned Parenthood escort, described the unacceptable and intimidating behavior of some of the protesters; Natalie Gans, volunteer at the Clinic, described how some patients are harassed by some of the protesters; Dian Harrison, Executive Director of San Mateo County Planned Parenthood, thanked the Council for considering the proposed ordinance and stated that all the Clinic wanted was to make health care accessible; Cathy Little, Director of Redwood City Planned Parenthood, asked Council to support the proposed ordinance to ensure safe and private access to health care facilities at the Clinic, and described how patients are harassed by some of the protesters; Joseph Steinfeld, Main Street, Redwood City, spoke in favor of the proposed ordinance, but suggested that a better way to ensure safety would be to treat these protesters as union protesters are treated elsewhere, i.e, to rope off a section where people are permitted to protest, but are confined in that one area. Catherine Short invited everyone to come to the clinic and see what is happening there before a vote is taken on the ordinance. Mayor Buchan asked if anyone else wished to speak. No one came forward.
