REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br /> <br />July 25, 2016 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />Amendment No. 1 to Agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. and <br />Amendment No. 1 to Agreement with TJKM Transportation Consultants for on call <br />services <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve, and authorize City Manager to execute: <br />· Amendment No. 1 to Agreement for Professional Services with Kimley-Horn in <br />the amount of $350,000 (for a total of $550,000) for on-call civil/transportation <br />engineering services, and <br />· Amendment No. 1 to Agreement for Professional Services with TJKM <br />Transportation Consultants in the amount of $50,000 (for a total of $250,000) for <br />on-call civil/transportation engineering services. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />At the January 26, 2015 meeting, the City Council approved the execution of <br />professional services agreements with both Kimley-Horn and TJKM to perform on-call <br />civil/transportation engineering services to augment the capacity of City staff. <br /> <br />ANALYSIS <br />Since execution of those agreements, both firms have been issued task orders to <br />complete various activities in support of City transportation projects. <br /> <br />Kimley-Horn has provided: <br />· Design services for the Safe Routes to School Implementation Project at five <br />Redwood City School District elementary schools, and <br />· Planning and design services for intersection modifications at the intersection of <br />Alameda de las Pulgas and Goodwin. <br /> <br />TJKM has provided: <br />· Staff augmentation to research, evaluate, and respond to citizen requests on a <br />variety of topics from traffic complaints and traffic calming requests to parking <br />concerns, <br />· Analysis of the City’s in lieu parking fee, <br />6.1.F. - Page 1
