Councilman Granger moved to carry this on <br />the agenda for one week to go over the information gathered by the City Clerk's office, seconded by <br />Councilman Britscl-_gi and carried. <br />INDUSTRIAL WAY, RESOLUTION CALLING FOR BIDS AND A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE SALE OF BONDS. Councilman <br />Britschgi offered RESOLUTION 2040 ORDERING CALL FOR BIDS, INDUSTRIAL IPTAY IMPROVEMENTS and moved its adoption, <br />seconded by Councilman Granger and carried on roll call with Councilman Spillers being noted absent. <br />W„ Councilman Stout offered RESOLUTION 2044 DIRECTING SALE OF IMPROVEMENT BONDS, INDUSTRIAL SPAY IMPROVEMENTS <br />and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried on roll call with Councilman Spillers <br />being noted absent. <br />Item #17 was eliminated because the request for cancellation of taxes was for property outside the City limits <br />of Redwood City. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED REPLACING PARKING METERS ON THE EMPTY STATIIDARDS ON FRANKLIN STREET. <br />The Traffic Committee recommended that twelve hour meters be restored on Franklin Street between Jefferson <br />Avenue and James Avenue on both sides of the street. In order to complete this project, thirty—six <br />additional twelve hour meters will have to be purchased, which would be financed from the Off Street <br />Parking Fund. This was followed by discussion as to whether or not the meters were needed. Councilman <br />Weiss offered RESOLUTION 2042 AUTHORIZING THE REPLACING CF PARKING METERS ON THE EMPTY STANDARDS ON <br />FRANKLIN STREET and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Herkner. This was followed by discussion <br />in regard to why the parking meters were being installed and why the parking lot wasn't fil7e d and the <br />parking situation in the area. The motion carried on roll call with Wouncilmen Britschgi and Granger <br />voting NO and Councilman Spillers being noted absent. <br />Councilman Stout was of the opinion that a report should be made in regard to the parking situation in the <br />Perry Street Parking Lot. Councilman Stout moved that the City Manager make a report in regard to the <br />situation in the Perry Street Parking Lot. Mayor Royer did not think that this was needed and he further <br />stated that this was being handled by a Committee. The motion was dropped. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING CO14MITTEE RECOMMEND STOP SIGNS ON KING STREET AT EACH OF ITS INTERESECTIONS WITH BREWSTER <br />AVENUE. Councilman Granger offered RESOLUTION 2013 AUTHORIZIlt STOP SIGNS ON KING STREET AT EACH OF ITS <br />INTERSECTIONS WITH BREWSTER AVENUE and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried on <br />roll call, Councilman Spillers being noted absent. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING CO109TTEE RECOMMENED TWO HOUR PARKING ZONE ON CEDAR STREET FROM EL CAMINO REAL TO LATHROP <br />STREET. Councilman Britschgi offed RESOLTUION 2044 AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION OF TWO HOUR PARKING ZONE ON CEDAR <br />STREET FROM EL CAMINO REAL TO LATHROP STREET and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Herkner and <br />carried on roll call, Councilman Spillers being noted absent* <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF THE FINAL MAP OF THE EBENER TRACT SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />POM 1. Final the doing by the City Engineer and correction of map as per his instructions. <br />2. Meeting all the provisions of the subdivision ordinance except that it is recommended that <br />electroliers be waived. <br />Councilman Herkner moved approval of the Planning Commission's recommendation, seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi and carried. <br />.,, PLANNING COMMISSION LETTER REGARDING JEFFERSON AVENUE:PLAN LINES AND THE COUNCIL'S ACTION RELATIVE TO R ETAINING <br />A TRAFFIC ENGINEER. On the first point, the Planing -Commission feels that it is unfortunate that a thorough <br />explanation of the effect of plan lines was not given to the opponents of the proposed Jefferson Avenue <br />Plan Lines. It is the feeling of the Planning Commission that much of the misunderstanding and opposition <br />stems from lack of understanding. <br />On the second point, the Planning Commission feels that while they feel that the City has a very competent <br />consultant on planning, including traffic matters and street and highway planning, they have no desire to <br />
