<br />the employees wished to commend and thank the Personnel Board for their recent study and recommendation
<br />regarding working conditions. Tt was decided that the Council be asked to reconsider the following
<br />items:
<br />1. placation Leave - it is requested that the rule be changed to allow three weeks �
<br />vacation after ten years of service rather than 15 years as proposed.
<br />2. Holidays - it is requested that the rule be changed to rant holiday pay to
<br />shift -work employees when a holiday falls on their regular day off.
<br />Councilman ;ranger moved that the letter be filed and a copy be sent to the Personnel Board, seconded
<br />by Councilman Herkner who added that they ask for the Board's recommendation. The motion carried.
<br />SALARY ORD-rIVTICS. CITY Attorney Currie stated that he had the salary ordinance prepared and it was read
<br />for introduction. The salary increase is 8.61? or 12 steps effective Ausut lst if the Council declares
<br />this an emerg=ency ordinance. Councilman Stout stated that this was more than the Personnel Board
<br />recommended. This will increase the salaries "�,c�,000 or 36,000 over the amount needed over and above
<br />the recommendation of the Personnel Board. Councilman Stout stated that he would kike the cna.ge to
<br />be turned over to the Personnel Board and their recommendation and he furtbnr stated that the Board
<br />will rleet tomorrow night. Councilman Gra per stated that he had contacted amember of the Personnel
<br />Board and he was told that they would not turn down the recorniz end,ation of the Council or, this matter.
<br />Councilman Granger further stated that there was some feeling that the Council should grant the same
<br />increase to all employees and that was wily they considered the across, trf- board increase of 1114.
