The caner of the block bounded by Broadway, Walnut, Bradford and Maple streets proposes to
develop the block by extending Marshall Street between Maple Street and Walnut'Street. The development of
just one block would require -only a 60 foot wide street, but Jerome Draper, who represents the owner,
,.. stated that they would be willing to dedicate the full 80 feet to conform to the Master Plan. However,
L
since the additional 20 feet is for through traffic and does not benefit the vaner of the property, they
believe it is only fair that the City Pay the cost of the pavement for the additional width. Thereforep
they request that the City pay for the extra 20 feet of pavement, which is a benefit to the City as a whole,
and the owner will pay for all the remaining improvements in the street.
Mr. Randlett stated that this has been before the Planning Commission and approved by them. This woo
followed by discussion in regard to the previous plan lines. Councilman Weiss moved that this matter be
referred to exploration at a study meeting. Councilman Britschgi raised the question of haw the gas tax money
could be used.
