Councilman Stout offered RESOLUTION 2130 COMMENDING THE "REDWOOD CITY COMMITTEE FOR CBSERVANCE OF THE SAN <br />MATEO COUNTY CENTENNIAL" and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried on roll <br />call, Councilman Britschgi being noted absent. <br />Councilman Granger ased the Clerk or City Attorney, fob the,Mayor to send letters to the centennial <br />participants. Councilman Granger moved that suitable letters be mailed to the centennial participants, <br />seconded .by Councilman Herkner and carried. The Mayor stated that Councilman Granger had the list,of <br />the participants if it was needed. .. <br />CHESTER LEBSACK REGARDING ACQUISTION OF PARCELS 46 A and.B, INDUSTRIAL WAY. In his letter, Mr. Lebsack <br />stated that they were completing the acquistion of the property for the.construction of the <br />Industrial Way improvements and have received an offer from the owners of the above intitled parcels <br />wherein, they propose to convey the neeed property to the City for the sum of $4p500.00. The appraisal <br />..J <br />firgure they have on these parcels from the City's appraiser, is the sum of $5,000.00. Therefore, it is <br />Mr. Lebaack's recommendation that funds be made available immediately and that he be authorized to acquire <br />the property for the sum of $5,500.00. <br />Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION 2131 AUTHORIZING COMPROMISE OF PROTION OF CONDEMNATION ACTION, <br />INDUSTRIAL WAY and moved its adop ion, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried on roll call, Councilman <br />Britschgi being noted absent. <br />DOUGLAS & WOODHOUSE REQUEST EXTENSION OF TIME LAUREL-MANZANITA-HILTON IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. City Engineer <br />Jain stated that he had the letter requesting the extension of time of twelve days. They have use up <br />all their time and they could have finished this week. Mr. Jain suggested that this request be held <br />up for two weeks. Councilman Spillers moved to carry this item on the agenda for two weeks, seconded <br />by Councilman Weiss and carried* <br />Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION 2132 DECLARING WEEDS A NUISANCE AND ORDERING THEIR REMOVAL AND moved <br />a <br />its adoption, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried on roll call, Councilman Weiss and carried on "'i <br />roll call, Councilman Britschgi being noted absent. Oouncilman Granger asked if they could send a <br />copy of the notice out with the water bills and put same in envelopes. Councilman Granger moved that <br />this thinking be referred to the Weed Abatement Committee, seconded by Councilman Spillers and <br />carried•, <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE recommends stop signs for Industrial Way and on the southeast corner of Warwick <br />at its intersection with Finger Avenue. Councilman Weiss offered RESOLUTION 2133 ESTABLISHING STOP <br />INTERSECTIONS ON WARWICK STREET AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH FINGER AVENUE AND STOP INTERSECTIONS ON A, <br />B, C, D, E AND FLOWS. STREETS AT THEIR INTERSECTION WITH INDUSTRIAL WAY and moved its adoption, seconded <br />by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call, Councilman Britschgi being noted absent. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF N. MARCELLI FOR A VARIANCE TO ALLOW EXTENSION OF AN R-3 <br />DISTRICT ON A LOT NOW DIVIDED INTO Rw2 AND R-3 DISTRICTS BY THE ZONED BOUNDARIES. (Portion of Lot los 01 <br />Block E, Woodisde acres, 1698 Kentfield Avenue.). The property known as, Portion of Lot los Block E, <br />Woodside Acres is presently zones about 601 R-2 and 40% R-3. The Planning Commission feels that the <br />R-3. in extending over the entire property, would not be detrimental to the surrounding area. Council- <br />man Granger offered RESOLUTION 2134 GRANTING VARIANCE TO N. MARCELLI TO ALLOW EXTENSION OF ft -3 DISTRICT <br />and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Herkner. Councilman Weiss asked that the Planning <br />..Wi <br />Commission letter be read by the Clerk. This was followed by discussion after which the motion carried <br />on roll call with Councilman Britschgi being noted absent. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF L. N. MELEYCO FOR A VARIANCE TO ALLOW A 5' REAR SETBACK INSTEAD <br />of 15' (Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 1, Oakleigh Park southeast corner of Nimitz Avenue and Woodside <br />Road). This property has been under discussion by the Planning Commission for several months. It is <br />the feeling of the Commission that the public interest can b est be served by allowing a 5' rear.ykd <br />
