<br />It was moved by Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Herzstein, and carried, that the
<br />following be added to the permitted use of Number 1, above: "and other activities
<br />that are appropriate social, recreational, educational, and cultural purposes for
<br />which the organization is corporated under the laws of the State of California
<br />as a non-profit corporation".

<br />6. It was moved by Mr. Reilly, seconded by Mr. Malone, but no carried, that automobiles and
<br />all other vehicles be prhibited from parking on the Hetch Hetchy right of way.

<br />7. It was poved by Mr. Valone, seconded by Mr. Reilly, but not carried, that no bar
<br />serving or selling alcoholic beverages be operated on the premises at any time.

<br />8. It was agreed that if the club can start construction by March 1, 1957, it will
<br />complete the building except for certain interior refinements by January 1, 1958.

<br />9. The club agreed to provide a more detailed statembnt of financing the building
<br />than it had previously submitted.
<br />10. It was agreed that the City Attorney and the attorney for the Club would seet
<br />legal means for implementing the items on this agenda.

<br />11. A motion made by Mr. Reilly that no activities be permitted after 9:30 P.M.
<br />was not seconded.

<br />Councilman Britschgi stated that he wanted the record to show that he called the meeting. He called
<br />the meeting for 4 P.M., however, in checking with everyone they found the best time for everyone was
<br />7:30 P.P. The City Attorney stated that he would kike the record to show that this is a continuation
<br />of the public hearing. Councilman Stout stated that he did not have a recommendation to make for the
<br />Committee. He spoke for scare time on the subject. The Mayor announced that this was continuation of
<br />the pbulic hearing. This was followed by a very lengthy discussiop in favor and against allowing the
<br />Highlands Community Club building. Mr. Malone and Mr. Reilly did not feel that the Committee meeting
<br />was a fair meeting and stated their thinking on the matter. Mr. Hertxstein reported on the finances
<br />of the Club and the amount of money available to erect the building ($11,000 in the bank). Also
<br />under discussion was who would use the building, what the building will be used for, extent of
