Councilman Britschgi moved that the permit be denied, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved that they notify the City of Woodside calling to their attention to the <br />problem of the water situation and that the City can not give adequate water service in back of Redwood <br />City. Councilman Britschgi suggested th7t rather than write a letter to a new City that the Mayor call <br />a meeting and discuss the water situation with them. Councilman Stout seconded Councilman Granger's <br />motion which carried. <br />PLANNING COIJUISSION RECOMMENDED TO DENY L. A. HEALY APPLICATION TO RFZONE LOT 16, BLOCK E, WOODSIDE ACRES <br />(1012 WOODSIDE ROAD) FROM R+:3 TO R-4. Councilman Stout moved to set the public hearing for the first <br />meeting in January, 1957, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS REQUEST CANCELLATION LEASE ON OLD VETERAN'S BUILDING. Councilman Granger offered <br />RESOLUTION 2154 AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF SURRENDER OF L'?ASE FROM DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS and moved <br />its adoption, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried on roll call, Councilman Spillers being noted <br />absent. <br />CITY OF MENLO PARK REQUEST CONSENT TO ANNEXATION OF BOHANNON INDUSTRIAL PARK. Councilman Herkner moved <br />approval of the request, seconded by Councilman Stout. This was followed by discussion as to why this <br />property was being annexed to Menlo Park. The Mayor explained that this tract is already under the <br />Menlo Park Sanitary and Lighting District and that is why they decided to annex to Menlo Park. The <br />motion carried. <br />TRAFFIC-COP5.TITTEE REC0T,9AENDS STOP SIGN ON HOPKINS AVENUE CUT-OFF AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH ALAMEDA 'DE LAS <br />PULGAS. Councilman Britschgi moved approval of the Committee's recommendation and offered RESOLTTION <br />2155 ESTABLISHING STOP SIGN AT HOPKINS AVENUE BEFORE ENTRANCE TO ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS and moved its <br />0 <br />.."o <br />adoption, seconded by Councilman Weiss. Councilman Stout asked about the possibility of a slow sign <br />being installed at this intersection. The motion carried on roll call with Councilman Spillers being noted P" <br />absent. <br />AUTHORIZED CITY CLERK TO ACCEPT DEED TO PORTION OF LOT 4, BLOCK G. WOODISDE ACRES NO. 1. Councilman Britschgi <br />moved that the Clerk be authorized to accept the above mentioned deed, seconded by Councilman Granger <br />and carried. <br />FIVE REQUESTS FOR EXTENSION OF TIME ON SIDEWALK REPAIR NOTICES, Kenneth Whitford, Joseph Reichel, John W. <br />Coss, Alfred Layton and Stanley A. Smith. The Mayor announced that the majority of the people asked <br />for the extension because of the time of year and because of taxes and Christmas. The Mayor suggested <br />the possiblity of 60 or 90 days extension. He suggested meeting with the City Engineer in regard to <br />setting up a policy on sidewalk matters. This was followed by discussion. Councilman Weiss moved to <br />give a delay to February lst. This motion lost for lack of a second and was followed by further <br />discussion. <br />Councilman Stout moved that these requests be given an extension of 60 days and the Mayor to appoint <br />a committee to report.hack at the first meeting in February, seconded by Councilman Granger. Councilman <br />Weiss objected to this being referred to a committee and he was of the opinion that this should be <br />referred to the City Manager and City Engineer. This was followed by discussion. The City Engineer and <br />City Attorney were of the opinion that 10 days is not sufficient time to get bids and have the work <br />done on sidewalk repairs. The motion carried on roll call with Councilmen Herkner and Weiss voting NO. <br />The Mayor appointed Councilmen Stout and Weiss, City Manager and the City Engineer to the Committee. <br />Councilman Herkner moved that the City Attorney be instructed to change the sidewalk ordinance to <br />extend the time limit from 10 to 60 days, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />The Mayor announced that Tusesday, December 11th at 4 P. m. was the date and time set to meet with the <br />@putxhern Pacific Company and Public Utilities Commission. <br />
