<br />Granger moved that this should be considered at budget time and this be referred to the City Manager for
<br />consideration at that time, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried.
<br />Councilman Granger stated that he received a letter from the Southern Pacific Company in regard to the leasing
<br />of Pennsylvania Avenue from the S. P. to Main Street for access to the parking lot. The Clerk read the
<br />letter. Councilman Granger moved that they proceed along the lines that are necessary and referred this to
<br />the City Attorney to see what he could do to get this under lease, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried.
<br />This is to appear on the agenda in 30 days.
<br />Building Inspector nreiss wanted to know if the Council would consider putting on the April ballot the matter of
<br />Charter change regarding the printing of large ordinances such as the Building and Electrical Code. This
<br />was followed by discussion after which Councilman Britschgi moved that the City Attorney draw up the
<br />A
<br />necessary mechanics to put the recommendation of the City Building Inspector and all the departments involved
<br />into effect and to report back to the Council for approval, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried.
<br />The Clerk stated that the Commutei-s Club requested permission for the Boy Scouts to erect tents and display
<br />their camp for Boy Scout Week. They plan to erect their tents at the old circus grounds. Councilman
<br />Spillers moved permission be granted, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried.
<br />The Mayor announced the following study meetings:
<br />Wednesdays February 8th, at 4 p.m. (meet with the Planning Commission)
<br />Thursday, February 9th, at 4 p.m. (Annexation charges)
<br />Claims numbering #18406 through #18572, totaling $201,550.72s were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Spillers,
<br />seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. Councilman Spillers moved that the meeting be adjourned until
<br />Tuesday, February 14, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. Adjournment: 11:45 P.M.

<br />(Carl Rosene Property, corner Jefferson and Topaz) FROM R— 1 to R-3. Affidavit of mailing was ordered filed.
<br />The Clerk read a letter from Mrs. Edwin H. Ghent, 591 Topaz Street, wherein she stated that she did object
<br />to the property being rezoned to R-3 if the building will be one story high and conform to the rest of the
<br />buildings in the area and it does not become a commercial building. The Clerk also read a letter from Mrs.

<br />L. E. Cowles, 610 To.,jaz Street, in which she stated that it would seem that the rental units,vdth plenty of
<br />space to park off street, with ample garage accomodations, etc., would not be objectionable. Therefore she
<br />could see no reason why, if he conforms to the regulations as specified, he should not be permitted to build
<br />the units. Mr. Metzler, 2924 Jefferson Avenue, spoke in favor of the rezoning. Councilman Royer moved that
<br />the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried.
