Motion carried. <br />Councilman Granger offered RESOLUTION 1995 FOR A VARIANCE TO ALLOW 51 REAR SET -BACK FOR MEDICAL BUILDING <br />AT 139 ARCH STREET and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried on roll call, Council- <br />men Britschgi and Stout being noted absent. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL E. SKINNER APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE TO ALLOW 1" SET -BACK ON SIDE AND 04 <br />REAR OF A COMMERCIAL LOT AT PORTION OF LOTS 1 AND 22 BLOCK 4, ROBINSON SUBDIVISION (Jackson and El Camino mod <br />Re4l), AND TO RESUBDIVIDE THE PROPERTY INTO A 70 FOOT LOT AND A 50 FOOT LOT SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF <br />DRIVEWAYS BY THE CITY ENGINEER. Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION 1996 FOR VARIANCE FCR THE ABOVE <br />and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried on roll call, Councilmen Britschgi and <br />Stott being noted absent*. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION OF DR. MELEYCO TO BUILD PROFESSIONAL BUILDING IN <br />U DISTRICT. This use Permit was issued subject to: <br />1. , Advisor Wise approval of Off-street parking layout. <br />2. Architectural approval of Planning Comanission., <br />3. Owner to provide a structurally adequate retaining wall on his property along <br />the drainage channel between his property and Atherwood Subdivision, <br />The Clerk read a letter of protest for granting of a use permit to allow office building and also a <br />protest for the application for variance to allow 721 rear yard at Woodside Road and Nimitz. Councilman <br />Spillers moved to set this matter of a public hearing on March 26th, seconded by Councilman Royer and <br />carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL DR. MELEYCO APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE TO ALLOW 72I REAR YARD AT <br />WOODSIDE ROAD AND NIMITZ AND RESUBDIVIDE INTO A SINGLE BUILDING SITE. There was considerable opposition <br />to this request and the vote of the Planning Commission was 3 to 2 for approval. Councilman Royer moved <br />wird <br />to carry this item on the agenda until March 26th, City Attorney Currie stated that this could be <br />included in the publication regarding the Use Permit for this same property in question. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED DENIAL OF APPLICATION OF H. MORELLO FOR VARIANCE TO ALLON 3 GARAGES FOR 4 <br />APARTMENTS AT 411 BUCKEYE STREET. The Planning Commission feels that the provision of garage units is <br />too important to waive. Councilman Royer stated that he looked at this property and he was of the opinion <br />that there was actually room to park four cars and he recommended that they be allowed to have units as <br />long as they have roam for four cars. Mrs. Morello stated that there was space to park six cars. Council- <br />man Royer moved to allow this variance, seconded by Councilman Spillers. Planning Commissioner Webber <br />stated that this wasn't the ideal situation because of the tandum parking. Motion carried. City Attorney <br />Currie stated that they did not have the Resolution ready but he would bring it up for approval at the <br />next Council meeting, <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED THE NAME CP TACOMA WAY FOR THE PROPOSED STREET FORMERLY NAMED GLENNAN WAY .err <br />AND/OR, COUNCIL WAY (small portion of an isolated street through the unrecorded Sorensen Industrial <br />Tract, north of Whipple Avenue and west of Bayshore Highway). Councilman Spillers moved approval of the <br />Planning Commission's recommendation, seconded by Councilman Acyer and carried. The Clerk asked what •", <br />he should do with the five deeds that he is holding for the street in this area. Councilman Royer moved ftwo <br />that this matter be turned over to the City Attorney for a report next week, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers and carried. <br />Claims 18651 through 18830, totaling $88,821.33, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Spillers$ seconded <br />by Councilman Jones and carried. <br />PIEDMONT WAY neighbors wanted to know how this street could be opened up so the street could be made passable. <br />
