Councilman Stout spoke in regard to the railroad crossings. On his own initiative he wrote to the Goodyear <br />Rubber Company in regard to rubber ties and received a letter in return quoting prices and pictures <br />showing crossings with their ties installed. He asked to refer this and his letters to the the City <br />Engineer to meet with the Southern Pacific engineers. Councilman Stout moved to place this on the <br />agenda for 30 days, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />Councilman Stout spoke in regard to the Parking Lot #1. The Committee will be happy to sit in with the <br />property owners on Main Street in regard to finding a solution to fix the rear entrances of the stores. <br />This was followed by discussion. <br />Councilman Stout brought up the matter of annexation and subdivision fees. He stated that a report was <br />supposed to be turned in within 30 days and he wanted to know if the report was ready. This was <br />followed by discussion in regard to additional charges for subdivisions. City Manager Rolison stated <br />that the information is ready and will be turned in next week. Agenda. <br />Councilman Stout brought up the matter of the Yacht Harbor Committee Master Plan and he was of the opinion <br />that the Council should adopt some sort of a master plan. Councilman Royer stated that the Committee <br />is working on this project and he moved that this matter be turned over to the Committee for their <br />recommendation in two weeks. Councilman Britschgi stated that the City is going to have to have <br />help form the Port. Councilman Britschgi seconded the motion. This was followed by a very heated <br />discussion after which Councilman xoyer changed his motion to have the report in 30 days. Motion <br />carrried. 4 <br />The City Manager brought up the subject of lighting in the vicinity of the Justice Building. The County <br />wishes to be assured that they will receive credit in the vent that an assessment district is formed <br />in later years, should they install the conduit at this time. The City Manager suggested that the <br />County turn in an itemized list of any and all work done in regard to installing the underground <br />conduit. This was followed by discussion after which Councilman Granger moved that the proper <br />authorities be directed to contact the Board of Supervisors in regard to this matter, seconded by <br />Councilman Jones and carried. <br />The Clerk read the following letter submitted by the City Manager: <br />Plans and specifications have been completed by the Water Department for the <br />installation of the following water mains in the vicinity of the Hall of Justice; <br />Broadway to Whipple Avenue via Middlefield, Bradford and Allerton: <br />3775 Linear feet of 12n Cast Iron Main <br />150 If If Bit it it n <br />375 it It 6n It It n <br />110 it n 4" If it It <br />10 Fire Hydrants <br />This is in accordance with the recommendation made by the National Board of <br />Fire Underwriters, and is estimated to cost approximately $60,000. The City Auditor <br />advises the $73,271.62 remains in the 1951 Bond Fund, from which this would be <br />financed. <br />Permission is therefore requested to advertise for the installation of the <br />above listed water mains and appurtenances. <br />Dance Permit was requested by John Torres to be held on Sundays starting April 1, 1956 at the Carpenters <br />Hall from 2 to 7 P. m. Acting Police Chief Moudakas recommended against granting this permit stating <br />the the City has had a great deal of trouble with similar dances of this type. Uouncilman Spillers <br />moved approval of the Acting Chief's recommendation to dere}► the request, seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi and carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved that the City Council refrain from holding a Council meeting on the 9th of April <br />because of the work load in the Clerk's office, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried, Mayor Herkner <br />voting NO. <br />Councilman Granger offered RESOLUTION IN MEMORIUM OF SGT. ANDREW MORGAN.. dopy to be spread upon the minutes <br />and a copy to sent to the family, and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />ON" <br />G <br />
