5 <br /> The City Engineer stated that he did not object to the selling of the property, how- <br /> _ ever, he asked that they not sell the portion of the property needed to protect the <br /> City's right-of-way because of the storm drain on the corner of the property. He <br /> recommended that they grant access use over the property. The Mayor asked that this <br /> be referred to the City Attorney and the City Engineer to work out an agreement on <br /> this piece of property. Attorney Lebsack asked that he also be included in this <br /> meeting as he was the acting right-of-way agent for the City on this particular pro- <br /> ject. Councilman Stout moved that this matter be referred to the City Attorney, the <br /> City Engineer and Attorney Lebsack to work out the necessary agreement, seconded by <br /> Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> Lig BNAI-BRITH LODGE APPLICATION FOR PERMIT TO STT,T, SAFE AND SANE FIREWORKS AT ?30 EL CAMINO <br /> REAL. Councilman Herkner moved approval of the recommendation of the Fire Chief, <br /> seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> CITY ENGINEER RECOMMENDATION TO ACCEPT YACHT HARBOR LEVEE. The City Engineer stated that <br /> they thought this would be ready but since that time they have had trouble with the <br /> levee holding up and he asked that he be given more time to make a recommendation. <br /> Councilman Weiss moved that this matter be taken off the agenda until such time as <br /> the City Engineer is ready to make a report, seconded by Councilman Weymouth. Coun- <br /> cilman Herkner stated that he was a little afraid of this. The levee was built to <br /> specifications of the City and Leslie Salt Company and he thought that this should <br /> be adted on in one week. The motion was charged to carry this on the agenda for two <br /> weeks and carried. <br /> TRAFFIC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED STOP SIGN ON SERVICE ROAD AT WOODSIDE ROAD AND MASSACHUSETTS <br /> AVENUE. Councilman Granger moved to refer this to the City Attorney to prepare the <br /> necessary resolution, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> • PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF APPLICATION OF E. E. DAVIS FOR VARIANCE TO <br /> EXTEND C-1-H OVER REST OF PORTION LOT 39, BLOCK I, WOODSIDE ACRES NO. 1, TO EXTEND <br /> 35 FEET (1614 Hudson Street) . Councilman Spillers moved to approve the Planning <br /> Commission recommendation and referred this to the City Attorney to prepare the <br /> necessary resolution, seconded by Councilman Granger. This was followed by discussion <br /> after which the motion carried with Councilman Weiss voting NO. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION REQUESTED COUNCIL CONSIDERATION TO ELIMINATE PARKING ON JEFFERSON <br /> AVENUE WESTERLY FOR FIVE OR SIX BLOCKS BETWEEN 700 A.M. AND 7:00 P.M. TO OBTAIN <br /> MORE TRAFFIC CARRYING LANES. The Clerk read the letter. Councilman Spillers moved <br /> r"' to refer this to the Traffic Committee, seconded by Councilman Stout. Planning <br /> Commissioner Tiedemann stated that the Planning Commission felt there shouldn' t be any <br /> parking on Jefferson Avenue. Councilman Weiss offered an amendment to the motion <br /> that they also consider a four-way signal at Jefferson Avenue and Alameda de las <br /> Pulgas. The Mayor asked that this be stricken from the motion because this is being <br /> considered by the Traffic Committee. The original motion carried. <br /> Councilman Granger asked what happened to the tree survey. The City Manager stated that the <br /> Park Superintendent has made a survey and it is in the hands of the City Engineer <br /> waiting for them to draw up the necessary map. <br /> Mr. Quinn asked that the Traffic Committee consider Jefferson Avenue and James Avenue as <br /> one way streets. <br />
