� eJ <br /> PETITION, 131 NAMES, OPPOSING NNIPERO BOULEVARD ROUTE �'A". The Mayor asked the Clerk to <br /> write a letter to the sender of the petition telling them of the action already <br /> taken by the Council in regard to this matter. <br /> The City Manager recommended that the Fire �hieF be advanced from Step #4 to Step #5 <br /> effective July 1, 195?• Councilman Spillers moved approval of the City Manager� s <br /> recarnmendation, secm ded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br /> The City Manager recommended that the Water Superintendent be advanced from Step #4 to <br /> Step �5 effective August 1, 195?• Councilman Weiss moved to accept the recommendation <br /> of the Cit9 Manager, seconded by Councilman i�e9mouth and carried. <br /> The ��City Manager recommended that Building Inspector be advanced from Step #3 to Step #4 <br /> effective July l, 195?• Councilman Weiss moved approval of the recorrunendation o� <br /> the City Manager, ssconded by Councilman 3tout and carried. <br /> I <br /> CouncilMan Granger moved that they take the same type of resolution and give the City ' <br /> Ma.nager the same type of step increase. The City Manager stated that this is based ,, <br /> on the annivers�,�y dates. ', <br /> Councilman Weiss read the following prepared statement: <br /> "Last wee� giid earlier this evening I expressed certain thoughts and niews relative ' <br /> our Yacht Harbor activities. Mr. Mayor, my sentiments are on the record and have <br /> not changed. Since each of you gentlemen`have now had an opportunity to read and � <br /> digest the import of my motion as made last week, calling for the City Manaoer to <br /> make a eomprehensive report relative thereto, I feel this is an opportune time for <br /> me to again offer the same motion, and Mr. Mayor, I so move." <br /> � <br /> Councilman Weiss's motion was that the City Manager rpepare such a comprehensive ; <br /> surve� and report for submission to the Council by not later than the first meeting ' <br /> in August 1957• F'i.irther that his report include any and all pertinent comrnents and !� <br /> � <br /> � <br /> recommendations he deems appropriate, and should cover, amongst other matters, the <br /> following specific points: ' <br /> l. Is the Yacht Harbor under the active supervision and administration of ' <br /> his office and the Recreation Department? <br /> 2. t�hat present facilities, other than berthing are available at the Yacht <br /> Harbor? <br /> 3. What commitments, agreements and rules, etc. as to use of such facilities <br /> are of record? WY�at fees, etc. are being charged? , <br /> ,l.�. 4�hat berthing facilities are presently available at the Yacht Harbor? <br /> 5. T�hen were, and what are the rates p resently established? When if at all <br /> have they been reviewed? Are they adequate in the lig�it of present day circumstances? <br /> 6. What plans for ultimate developments are presently available? <br /> 7. Have definite priorities for each phase of development been established? <br /> , 8. Have costs and means of fin�ncing been explored and de�eloped? <br /> �ouncilman Gran�er seconded the motion but added that a copy be sent to the maker of <br /> the petition and copies to be sent to the �ouncil. The motion carried. ' <br /> Councilman Granger reported that he had been contacted with re�ard to a 30 ton tank to be <br /> uaed during the July 4th parade. The City Engineer asked that the tank be displayed <br /> on lower Broadway rather than being used on the new asphalt, eapecially during hot <br /> weather. This was followed by discussion. Councilman Wei$s moved th at the equip- <br /> ment not be allowed on the street but would be allowed to be placed on display, ' <br /> seconded by Councilman Herkner.
