Councilman Weiss stated that Lhere was a �� correction he would like made on the minutes of June 24th, on page 2. In connection with the report on bid opening for piling and ramp, Marine Harbor, the minutes records the objections of Councilman Spillers to �Councilman i�eiss �s phrase "political � football" as included in his statement on the question. The minutes further indicate � ' 1 . that discussion followed and the Mayor ruled it out of order. The manner in which the Mayor� s action is indicated could lead to misunderstanding. Councilman Weiss moeed ' approval of the minutes as mailed with the correction of the June 2!}th minutes as noted above, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. PUBLIC t�EARING, ASSESSMENT OF HIGHLANDS TERRITORY N0. 1 SE4�lER AND in�'ATE.R IMPROVEME�TTS. Th.e affidavit of Post ing and Mailin� Notice of Filing Assesament and Time of Hearing was ', ordered filed. There were three letters of protest which the Clerk read. The letters I� were from Evelyn Willoughby and Violet Guinasso, County of San Mateo and h. K. Hill. ', There was some discussion in regard to the methof of spreading the assessment. Mrs. ', Guinasso and Miss Willoughby were present and addressed the Council stating their ', reasons for their objections. Councilman Stout moved that the public hearing be closed, �� , seconded by Councilmari Herkner and carried. � +� Councilman Herkner offered RESOLUTION 2279 .CONFIRMING ASSESSMIIVTS AND ASSESSMENT DIAGRAM HIGHLANDS TERRITORY N 0. 1 SE:WER AND 4�lATER IMFROVEMENTS =AND OVERRULING ALL PROTESTS and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll call, Council- man �pillers bein� noted absent. Councilman Herkner was of the opinion that a letter should be written to R. K. Hill telling him that he can not block the drainage ditch and notifying him what could be done and could not be done. Councilman Herkner so moved, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. The City Engineer recommended that this pro3ect be accepted subject to correction of any defects in materials and wor�nanship which might appear within one year from date of acceptance, and sub�ect to correcti on of any work required by the City Council after the ublic hearin on this ro ect. Councilman Stout moved a �� p g p 3 pproval of the City Engineer' s recommendation, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. `� CONTINUATION OF PU�LIC HEARING ON ANNEXATION OF EICHORN �ERRITORY. Mr. Eichorn asked that this be continued for one more week. Councilman Weiss moved to continue the p�blic hearing for one week, July 15th, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. „� SIDEWALK COMMITTEE REPORT ON MISS HEYDENFELDT� S REQUEST FOR AN EXTENSION. Councilman Stout � stated that the Gommittee discussed this and he asked the Clerk to read their report. +�`he Clark first read the letter from Miss Heydenfeldt and then the report of the Side- walk Committee. The Committee recommended that either Miss HeydenPeldt be 3.nstructed to complete these repairs immediately, or that the City Engineerts office be authorized to proceed to have tY�.e work done by a cont�actor and the eost thereof assessed a�ainst the property in accordance with Ordinance No. 639.
