Chase indicated that his department was not in a positian at this time to under- <br /> t�.ke any grade separations on El Carnino Real. However, he sug�ested a letter be sent <br /> to N�r. B. W. Booker, Assistant State Highway �ngineer, requesting the extent to which <br /> the 5tate wo ld contribute to planning and financing the proposed project. <br /> N`,r. Brown indi,�ated the Southern Pacific Lompany would be willing to contribute to <br /> a degree directly in line witr_ the willingne�s of the city to close at least one <br /> existing grade crossing. <br /> Enclosed are copies of letters to the State Livision of Highways and t '�ie Southern <br /> Pacific corr,pany requesting information as to their willin�ness to participate. <br /> Enclosed also is a copy of the letter to the Public Tuilities Commission informing <br /> them of the problems. <br /> E. The Clerk. read the letter wherein it was stated that c onsiderable pro- ' <br /> gress has now been made on the f irst phase of the planning for Stuls aft Park. They <br /> commended the City Nlanager, City Engineer and Park Department for the gaod work to <br /> date. This was followed by discussion. Councilman tnfeiss moved that the �ity , <br /> Attorney be instructed to draw up the necessary ordinance to appr�priate the �9,01.{.0 ' <br /> from the sale of cinnabar when the money arrives to the Stulaaft Park Fund, seconded , <br /> by Councilman Granger and carried. <br /> Councilman Herkner moved to ask the Hecreation Commission for their recammendation as <br /> to whether or not they ahould proceed with phase two and if they could complete phase <br /> two with the money they had on hand. Mr. Jain was of the opinion that they should <br /> wait until they complete phase one befare they start on another phase. They are not <br /> sure how much the first phase was going to cost. Councilman Weiss seconded the motion <br /> which carried. <br /> PARK AND RECREA`rION CQMI�II`l'TEE COMC�NNICATION R�ARDING LO`I'S 16, 17, 18 AND 19, BLOCK 13, <br /> HIGHLAIVDS 0�� EMr'�ALD LAKE. The Clerk read the letter wherein the Commission stated ' <br /> that they hope this matter will be followed up and they wondered if' the council would <br /> be able to te11 them when funds may be available for the project.
