4� � <br /> : PARK .4IVD RECR'�A'1'ION COMi42ISSI0N LETiER R��,GARDING MYRTLE S1REF;T BRIDGE IN C�MI'�NNITY rARK. <br /> The Clerk read the letter which reads as follows : <br /> With respect to the question recently raised as to the condition of the Myrtle Street <br /> Bridge in Community Park, we h ave had a committee consider the matter and it is their <br /> recommendation that said bridge be temporarily repaired, with the furt�.er recom- <br /> mendation that at such time as the creek is tapered and straightened, said Myrtle <br /> Street Bridge be elosed off' and a new one be constructed at Ne vada Street. <br /> The TZayor announced that the needed repairs had been completed. <br /> The St�te has closed the tr ansaction for acquisition of property on the State Highway right- <br /> of-way and the City will receive the money in due time. The money is for the Water <br /> Department. <br /> The Cit,J Clerk reminded the Council that there w ould be a Board of Equalization meeting on ' <br /> Aubust 12th at 10:00 o' clock a.m. <br /> Claims 2301�2 through 2321�3, totalin� �174,370.7!}, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman <br /> Herkner, seconded by •�ouncilman Weiss and carried. <br /> Councilman Granger called attention to the fact that the downtown merchants are not satisfied <br /> with the li�;htin� system. He asked if the Cov ncil was interested in proceeding with <br /> the lighting system downtown. He suggested that the Council look at the lightiny s�rstem <br /> in the vicinity of the new `1'ribune buildin� when they attend the opening on `j'hursday <br /> night and see if that is wYiat they want. Councilman Granger moved to refer this to the <br /> i proper authorities for a report and asked that they back up the project and proceed. ' <br /> j This was followed by discussion after which Councilman Her'�er secended the motian which <br /> carried. <br /> I Councilman Herkner mo ved that the meetin� be adjourned to August 12th at the hour of 8:00 p.m. , ,,,,,� <br /> sec�nded by councilm an ti�eiss and carried. No one appeared. <br /> Councilman Weiss moved approval of the tax roll as submitted, there being no reason <br /> to doubt the propriety or corr. ctness of the roll.
