Councilman Herkner stated that he received a copy of a letter from Mr. Spangler, This <br /> letter stated that the merchants were considering underwriting a portion of the survey in the event the <br /> parking district is not formed. Councilman Herkner moved that this matter be held up one week until <br /> they get a further report from Mr. Spangler's committee, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> The City Manager reported that he had received a letter from the League of California Cities urging Council <br /> support in favdr Of one bill and disfavor of 7 bills appearing before the State Legislature. The <br /> City Manager concurred with the recommendation 'of the League. Councilman Granger moved that the City <br /> Manager be authorized to send a telegram, seconded by Councilman Spillers. Councilman Herkner wanted <br /> to know what they were voting on. Mayor Royer read the letter after which the motion carried. <br /> REPORT ON BID OPENING, DUMP TRUCK FOR PARK DEPARTMENT. The following bids were received: <br /> Ferris Miles Dodge V8 $2,820.22 <br /> Hoyt Pontiac GMC V8 4,000.00 <br /> The City Manager recommended the bid of Ferris Miles since the truck meets the specifications in all <br /> respects. This was concurred in by the Park Superintendent. Funds for this purchase are available <br /> in the Equipment Replacement Fund. Councilman Spillers moved approval of the recommendation of the <br /> City Manager, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br /> The Mayor called a recess until such time as the attorneys returned. <br /> Recess, 10:10 P.M. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 10:33 P.M. <br />
