458 A <br /> study meeting. This was followed by discussion. Councilman Weiss suggested giving an extra ten days <br /> extention. Councilman Weiss moved to allow an extra ten days, the Clerk to ask Miss Heydenfeldt <br /> to forward the necessary information to the City Engineer as soon as possible, seconded by Councilman <br /> Herkner and carried. <br /> Councilman Granger spoke in regard to an article appearing in the newspaper in regard to proposed <br /> retirement of the City Manager next year. He suggested that the Mayor take some method or means "" <br /> of appointing a committee to give consideration to a replacement for the City Manager when he .. <br /> retires. The Mayor stated that in the next ten days or two weeks they will give consideration to <br /> appointing a committee. <br /> Councilman Weiss spoke in the matter of the budget. He suggested that the City Manager get the budget <br /> in shape as soon as possible for early consideration. He suggested the possibility of getting <br /> .rr <br /> the material in order by May 15th. <br /> Councilman Weiss stated that the Rapid Transit Committee is still operating. They are considering a <br /> bill before the State Legislature at the present time and the Council will receive a report in the <br /> near future. <br /> Councilman Weiss commented on the City Manager's recent letter in the Tribune, and suggested that in <br /> the future the letters appearing in the forum column with regard to the City be answered. <br /> Councilman Herkner asked permission to leave the State and the Conntry. Councilman Granger mowed <br /> permission be granted to Councilman Herkner, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> Councilman Herkner stated that the Peninsula Transit Committee will meet on May 16th to listen and come <br /> in with a recommendation to the Council. <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br /> Meeting adjourned, 10:58 P.M. <br /> 116s 11 <br /> r <br /> R.
