Public Comment: <br /> Mike Kastrop, President of the Downtown Business Group, stated that the Board <br /> does not support the increase at this time. He stated that the comparisons made <br /> to other cities are all thriving downtowns and Redwood City is currently in <br /> construction and transition. He stated that it is important that visitors have a good <br /> experience and the Group does support better enforcement of the current <br /> parking laws. Some of the violations seen are related to business owners and <br /> employees parking in the spaces closest to the businesses and slugging the <br /> meters, leaving no available parking. He stated that education needs to occur <br /> and the Group will support enforcement of flagrant abuses. The Group is happy <br /> to be part of the task force to find solutions to the parking issues. <br /> Council comments included involving the Downtown Business Association and <br /> other affected parties with the downtown parking management ptan as well as <br /> with the current situation. The Police Department should be involved and meter <br /> identification as it relates permitted parking times in spaces. <br /> M/S Hartnett/Howard to introduce an ordinance amending Municipal Code <br /> Sections 20.95.1.C, 20.95.2.B, 20.127, and 20.190, to provide for an increase in <br /> the parking bail schedule from $20.00 to $25.00, effective September 9, 2004 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 20.95.1.C, 20.95.2.8, 20.127 AND 20.190 OF <br /> THE REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO MAXIMUM PARKING <br /> PERIODS AND METER RATES ON VARIOUS PUBLIC STREETS AND PENALTIES <br /> AND BAIL SCHEDULES PERTAINING THERETO <br /> The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote by those present with <br /> Mayor Ira absent. MINUTE ORDER 04-151 <br /> B. Initial implementation of the Recycled Water Project including recommendations <br /> by the Recycled Water Community Task Force <br /> Public Works Services Director Ingram explained all items with one presentation. <br /> One addition was to add language to Section 6.3 of the agreement and the <br /> second item speaking to additional laboratory analysis and testing of water over <br /> time. (Proposed language change provided at the meeting.) <br /> Public Commenf: <br /> Karen Molinari, longtime resident a public information consultant in water supply, <br /> water quality and recycled water, thanked Council stating her pleasure in the <br /> efforts and approval of the contracts.
