5I. - � <br /> REPORT <br /> To the Honorable Mayor:and City Council <br /> From the Cit Mana er <br /> August 9, 2004 <br /> Subject <br /> Agreement for Child Care Consulting Services <br /> Recommendation <br /> Approve by motion the agreement between the City of Redwood City and the Child <br /> Care Coordinating Council (4C's) of San Mateo County <br /> Background <br /> As part of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department budget cuts for <br /> fiscal year 04-05, the Child Care Coordinator position was reduced by 50%. Staff <br /> encouraged the Child Care Coordinator to make contact with the many agencies that <br /> she works with on county-wide child care issues. The 4C's of San Mateo County <br /> expressed their desire to buy 25% or 10 hours a week of Child Care Coordinator time <br /> as they are in need of specialized support and training relating to the Local Investment <br /> in Child Care (LINCC) Project. <br /> By accepting this agreement, the Child Care Coordinator would be brought up to <br /> .75FTE. <br /> Alternative <br /> Not accept this agreement and the Child Care Coordinator would remain at .5FTE <br /> Fiscal Impacts <br /> The 4C's of San Mateo County will be billed on a quarterly basis from August 1S 2004 <br /> to June 30, 2005 and pay $19,372 for 25% of the Child Care Coordinating time, as well <br /> as $1,000 for support supplies for a total of $20,372 to the City. <br /> � � � <br /> , <br /> ti <br /> � '� <br /> Chris pher Beth Corinne Centeno Ed Eve tt <br /> Superintendent Director City Manager <br /> Attachment 1: Agreement <br /> . __.. _ . _._ .. <br /> � <br />
