<br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 911 FIXING -THE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION UPON
<br />THE TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS REVENUE TO CARRY ON THE VARIOUS HEPARTMENTS CF SAID
<br />CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1958-59, TO PAY THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF SAID CITY FALLING DUE AND BECOMING PAY-
<br />ABLE DURING SAID FISCAL YEAR TOGETHER WITH THE INTEREST THEREON, TO MAINTAIN THE PUBLIC LIBRARY CF SAID
<br />CITY DURING SAID FISCAL YEAR, TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE RETIREMENT PLAN, AND TO PROVIDE FOR CAPITAL IMPROVE,*
<br />MENTS; AND FIXING AND LEVYING THE TAX RATE THEREFOR, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried unanimously
<br />on roll call.
<br />Councilman Granger moved that the City Attorney be authorized to dram up the necessary resolution or ordin-
<br />ance to re-establish a 3 mill tax procedure, money to be ear -marked for Veterans Memorial Fund, seconded by
<br />Councilman Herkner. Councilman Spillers asked -that they include in the motion that the City Manager also
<br />submit a report. The motion carried.
<br />CONTINUATION ON PLANNING COMMISSIONIS RECOMMENDATION OF INFORMAL APPROVAL OF A PROPOSED CUL-DE-SAC STREET IN
<br />"MARSHALL SQUARE". Councilman Weiss moved to approve the request subject to agreement to install full street
<br />in accordance with City specifications, fire hydrant, faithful performance bond and agreement -of a maximum
<br />of 6 lots, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried.
<br />SUBDIVISION COAtdDdITTEE RECOL90MATION ON GRANT DEED FOR 20t EASEMENT FOR STORM DRAINAGE AND PUBLIC UTILITY PUR-
<br />POSES ON THE MORA PROPERTY, LOTS<l, 2, 3 AND 4, BLOCK 1, RESUB,OF LOT 46, REESE SUBDIVISION (easterly cor-
<br />ner of Sierra Street and Redwood Avenue). Councilman Spillers moved to authorize the City Clerk to accept
<br />the deed, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried.
<br />PLANNING COMMISSIONIS RECOMMENDATION ON RCB E -?T S. & ELIZABETH C. WHITEIS PETITION FOR EXCEPTION TO THE SUBDIVISION
<br />ORDINANCE INVOLVING A PORTION OF IDT 520 WELLESLEY PARK NO. 2 AT 20 AND 22 OAKDALE STREET. Councilman Herkner
<br />moved to,continue the matter for two weeks and requested the City Attorney to bring in the suggested controls,
<br />seconded by Councilman Granger and carried.
<br />CLAIMS FOR PERSONAL INJURY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE F11ED BY - DONNA EARLENE FOOSANER AVID DONNA D. ALVERSON. Councilman
<br />Spillers moved to deny the claims and refer them to the insurance carrier, seconded by Councilman Rosselli
<br />and carried.
<br />COMMUUNICATIONS:
<br />ROPAT INVESTMENT CORPORATION appealed the decision of the Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment deny-
<br />ing their application for, a use permit. Councilman Spillers moved to set the matter for public hearing on
<br />September 22, 1958, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried.
<br />Councilman Spillers mowed to introduce an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 600, being the Zoning Ordinance, to
<br />rezone Lots 2, 4 and 6 and pbrtions of Lots 7, 8 and 9, Block I, and Lots 2 and 4, Block B, Woodside Acres
<br />Map No. 1, from R-2 District to R -3-G District, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried on roll call
<br />with Councilman Weymouth being disqualified because he was not present at the time bf the public hearing.
<br />Claims 26721 through 26832, totaling $170,078.83, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Rosselli, seconded
<br />by Councilman Weymouth and carried.
<br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2545 EXTENDING INVITATION TO REPUBLICAN PARTY TO HOLD 1960
<br />CONVENTION IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA,.'seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried unanimously on roll call.
