Mayor pro -tem Herber asked the Clerk to receive and <br />file the report of the Boundary Commission, resolution of the Torn of Woodside consenting to the detach- <br />ment and petition for annexation. Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2562 OF THE <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED <br />TERRITORY TO SAID CITY; DESCRIBING SAID TERRITORY AND DESIGNATING IT BY THE NAME "CONNAN ANNEXATION"; <br />MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS RESPECTING SAID PROPOSAL; AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE SAID COUNCIL WILL <br />HEAR PROTESTS THERETO, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried on roll call, Mayor Royer being noted <br />absent* (Public hearing, November 17, 1958) <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />SIMPSON S. BURKE request abandonment of 101 rear easement which is not in use for any public utility <br />as originally provided for (Lot 7, Edgewood Manor$ 74 Manor Corm). Councilman Rosselli moved that the <br />matter be referred to the City Manager for proper action, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />IRIS. HARVEY BOURLAND extended her thanks to the Park Department for their cooperation and support of <br />her church groups day camp which was held in stulsaft Park. Councilman Rosselli moved that the letter <br />be filed and a copy sent to the Park Superintendent, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />PAUL M. BUTLER, Chairman Democratic National Committee, acknowledged receipt of Resolution No. 2546 <br />extending an invitation to hold their 1960 Democratic National Convention in the San Francisco Bay area. <br />WADE ALCORN, Chairman Rept%blican National Committee, acknowledged receipt of our resolution inviting <br />them to hold their 1960 Republican National Convention in the San Francisco Bay area. <br />ALLEN GLENNAN MAGUIRE extended his family's thanks to the members of the City Council for.their resol- <br />ution in memoriam of his mother, Mamie Glennan. <br />STATE CF CALIFORNIA: DEPARTMENT CF FINANCE reported that in accordance with Section 194.*2 of the Streets <br />and Highways Code they have certified to the Controller and to the Director of Public Works that the <br />estimated population of the city of Redwood City on August 1, 1958 was 43,700. They also extended their <br />thanks to Mr. Kreiss for his helpfulness and assistance in making available to them the information on <br />dwelling unit change. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved adoption, of RESOLUTION NO. 2563 DEDICATING CERTAIN CITY OWNED PROPERTY. FOR STREET, <br />PUBLIC UTILITY AND OTHER MUNICIPAL PURPOSES (portions of Lot 10 and 11, Block E, Woodside Acres Map No. 1) <br />seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried on roll call, Mayor Royer being noted absent. <br />Mayor Royer returned to the meeting at 9:55 p• m. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2564 DECLARING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY <br />REQUIRES THE ACQUISITION BY THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CERTAIN DESCRIBED INTEREST IN REAL PROPERTY; <br />AUTHCRIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY MANAGER TO ACQUIRE SAID REAL PROPERTY INTEREST AT A <br />TOTAL PURCHASE PRICE NOT TO EXCEED $8,900; AND, DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO GIVE NOTICE OF SAID ACQUISI- <br />TICK IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHARTER _CF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY (Be H. Frank & Company for construction of <br />sewage works enlargements), seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Weiss moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 2565 GRANTING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT IN FAVOR OF LOT 17, <br />JOHNSON SUBDIVISION, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF MEDICAL -DENTAL CLINIC CENTERS AND/ <br />OR CONVALESCENT HOMES ANDS, STATING THE CONDITIONS OF SAID PERMIT, seconded by Councilmen S pillars and <br />carried on roll call with Councilman Granger voting no and Councilman Weymouth being disqualified be- <br />cause he was not present at the time of_ the public hearing. <br />COUNcilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2566 Or PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION, BEECH STREET IMPROVE. <br />MENTS, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried on roll call. <br />
