The notice of mailing was ordered <br />f iled. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, PLANNING COMMISSION'S GRANTING OF USE PERMIT TO FEREM & DAY FOR RECREATION CENTER IN FARM <br />HILL AREA. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. After a very lengthy discussion, Council- <br />man Weiss moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. Coun- <br />cilman Weiss moved that the usepermit be denied. This motion lost for lack of a second. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved to concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commission and grant the use <br />permit, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call with Councilman Weiss voting No. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF THE PROPOSED W-1 ROUTE OF THE PROPOSED JUNIPERO SERRA FREEWAY. <br />The Redwood City Chamber of Commerce recommended the W-1 route as did the Town of Woodside, the San <br />Mateo County Board of Supervisors and the San Ma teo County Planning Commission. After listening to <br />the City Engineer explain the difference between the W-1 Route and the "B" (Canada Road) Route, the <br />cost of maintenance, the 4% grade, the extent of cut and fill and the difference of $2,000,000 to put <br />in the W-1 Route over the "B" Route. Councilman Rosselli moved to approve the State's recommendation <br />to adopt Route "B" (Canada Road), seconded by Councilman Granger and carried on roll call with Council- <br />men Granger, Rosselli, Weiss and Weymouth voting Yes, Councilmen Herkner, Spillers and Mayor Royer <br />voting No. <br />Golden Jones asked reconsideration of the action taken by the Council in denying him a variance, and he <br />asked for reconsideration because he did not think the Council was aware that his property is zoned <br />R-3 and not R-2. Councilman Weymouth moved that this matter be referred back to the Planning Com- <br />mission for reconsideration and that no additional charge be made, seconded by Councilman Granger and <br />carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF REVISED FINAL MAP OF FARM HILLS NO. 4* The Clerk was in re- <br />ceipt of a check in the amount of $5,700 to cover the annexation fee on 76 building sites. Council- <br />man Rosselli moved approval of the Planning Commission's recommendation and approved the final map <br />with the provision that there be added to the contract an obligation an the part of the Subdivider to <br />build the water tank at such place as the City Council may determine in the event that the site presently <br />specified is not used for reason df failure of Subdivider to obtain a use permit, seconded by Councilman <br />Herkner and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION NO. 2151 APPROVING AND ACCEPTING FINAL MAP OF FARM HILL NO, 4 <br />SUBDIVISION, REDWOOD CITY,_CALIFCRNIA, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS; APPROVING AND ADOPTING PLANS AND <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT THEREOF; AND, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS FOR SAID SUBDIVISION and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman <br />Weymouth and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />CITY ENGINEER PROGRESS REPORT ON YACHT HARBOR PLANS. The City Engineer reported that he hoped to have the <br />plans for the partial development of finger piers and floats at the Redwood City Marine Harbor completed <br />within two to three weeks, and the specifications with a week or two thereafter. <br />Councilman Herkner reported that the plans have been completed to the extent that they have a picture <br />of ghat the finished master plan will be. He suggested that they get an application in for a State <br />loan, as he believes the plans are completed enough to apply for the loan at the present time. Council- <br />man Weiss moved that the City Engineer's report and Councilman Herkner's report be accepted and the <br />matter be set for a study meeting on May 7th, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />
