M. <br />INVOCATION was led by Reverend Ralph Benson, North Fair Oaks Community Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, John S. <br />Rosselli, Robert V. Spillers, Louis Weiss, Ray Weymouth, Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. <br />Dodge. Also present were City Manager James A. Neal, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, City A ttorney <br />Robert J. Costello, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Assessor -A uditor John J. Brophy, Planning <br />Director William Rodgers, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Police Captain Theodore Moudakas, Building Inspector <br />S. H. Kreiss and Deputy City Clerk Vivian Holmquist, <br />PRESENTATION OF PLACQUE: Mayor Royer presented Hiram S. Stout with a pl.acque honoring his services to the <br />City of Redwood City during his term of office as a former councilmember. <br />BID OPENING, $500,00 principal amount of City of Redwood City 1958 Water Bonds. <br />Bids were received from the following: <br />Blyth & Co., Inc. Bank of America <br />Salomon Bros. & Hutzler California Bank <br />American Trust Company First Western Bank <br />The bids were referred to the City Auditor for checking and a report back later in the evening. <br />PUBLIC HEARING; APPEAL FROM ACTION OF BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS GRANTING OF USE PERMIT TO BUILD A SERVICE STATION <br />ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF WHIPPLE AVENUE AND INDUSTRIAL WAY. The notice of mailing was ordered filed. <br />A member in the audience asked that the hearing be held up until 9 o'clock in the evening. Councilman <br />Weiss moved that this item be continued to 9:05 p.m., seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of ORDINANCE 899 AMENDING SECTIONS 3 AND -6 OF ARTICLE I OF ORDINANCE NO. <br />639 (SIDEWALK AND DRIVEWAY ORDINANCE) TO FIX TIME WITHIN WHICH APPEALS MAY BE MADE TO SHOW CAUSE WHY <br />WORK SHOULD NOT BE DONE OR TIME EXTENDED; AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 891, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers and carried unanimously on roll call. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />�..,. Councilman Spillers moved adoption of ORDINANCE 600.90 AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 600 TO REZONE LOTS 1, 3 AND <br />5, BLOCK I, WOODSIDE ACRES NO. 1, FROM R-2 TO R -3-G, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried unan- <br />imously on roll call. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING, LEASE CF WATER RIGHTS. The Elks Lodge ##1991 bid the sum of $165.00 per year. Council- <br />man Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION 2462 AWARDING LEASE OF WATER RIGHTS; REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS <br />L RECEIVED AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT THEREFORE, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried <br />unanimously. on roll call. <br />PLANNING COIMMISSION RECOMMENDS THAT THE PETITION OF JOHN D. TEHANEY TO REZONE LOTS 10, 11, 13 and PORTIONS <br />OF LOTS 12 AND 14, BLOCK "E", WOODSIDE ACRES NO. L, FROM R-2 TO R -3-G DISTRICT BE DENIED. Councilman <br />Spillers moved to set the matter for public hearing May 26th, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />CITY ENGINEER RECOMMENDS THAT THE IMPROVEMENTS IN EBENER TRACT BE ACCEPTED.
