Minutes of the Regular Meeting
<br />Redwood City Council
<br />June 2, 1958, 8:U0 P. M.
<br />Invocation was led by Reverend Ralph Benson, North Fair Oaks Community Church.
<br />ON ROLL CALL the Following were noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, John S. Rosselli,
<br />Louis Weiss, Ray Weymouth, Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Councilman Spillers was
<br />noted absent. Also present were City Attorney Robert J. Costello, City Engineer Glenn IA. Jain, Police
<br />Chief William Faulstich, Planning Director William Rodgers, Planning Commissioner Vincent Rambo, City Tax
<br />Collector Paul Perrin, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Police Captain
<br />Theodore Moudakas and Deputy City Clerk Vivian Holmquist.
<br />Councilman Rosselli moved approval of the minutes of May 19th and May 26th as mailed, seconded by Councilman
<br />Weiss and carried.
<br />Councilman Granger moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 903 CF THE CITY OF REDWOCD CITY APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO
<br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITCRY DESIGNAT19D "LOT 17, JOHNSCN SUBDIVISION" AND HEREIN
<br />DESCRIBED, AND HEREIN ANNEXING SAID TERRITORY TO SAID CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, seconded by Councilman Herkner
<br />and carried on roll call, Councilman Spillers being noted absent. The affidavit of publication was ordered
<br />filed.
<br />TAX DOLLECTOR REQUESTS CANCELIATION CR WRITE -CFF ON UNPAID ITEMS ON THE CURRENT 1957-58 TAX ROLL AND DELINQUENT
<br />TAX LEDGER. Councilman Herkner moved to order cancellation in accordance with the request of the Tax Col-
<br />lector, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried.
<br />CITY ASSESSOR REQUESTS CORRECTION ON THE 1957-58 TAX ROLL IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 4986.2 OF THE TAXATION &
<br />REVENUE CODE. Councilman Weymouth moved to order cancellation in accordance with the request of the City
<br />Assessor, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried.
<br />Two verified claims for alleged damage to cars arising out of oil spray occurring at the Hawes School Parking
<br />Lot. Councilman Granger moved to deny the claims and referred the matter to the insurance carrier, second—
<br />ed by Councilman Herkner and carried.
<br />SUBMISSION CF 1958-59 BUDGET BY THE CITY MANAGER. Councilman Weiss moved adoption of RESOLUTION 2487 SETTING
<br />TIME AND PLACE CF PUBLIC HEARING ON ANNUAL BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 1958 -JUNE 30, 1959; ORDERING
<br />PUBLIC NOTICE BE GIVEN OF SAID HEARING AND OF THE FACT THAT COPES CF SAID PROPOSED BUDGET ARE AVAILABLE
<br />FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION IN THE CFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll
<br />calls CouncilmanSpill,ers being noted absent. (Public hearing - June 3.6th.)
<br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 600.91 AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 600 TO REZONE LOTS 1 THROUGH
<br />17, BLOCK 4; LOTS 1 THROUGH 18, BLOCK 6;; LOTS 1 THROUGH 20, BLOCK 82 BELIE HAVEN SUBDIVISION, FRCU C -3 -H
<br />To R-3, seconded by Councilman Weiss and ea rried on roll call with Councilmen Rosselli, Weiss and Weymouth
<br />voting Yes, Councilman Herkner and Mayor Royer voting No, Councilman Granger being disqualified and Council-
<br />man Spillers being noted absent.
<br />CITY AUDITOR REQUESTS TRANSFER OF FUNDS. Counci]man Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION 2488 APPROPRIATING THE
<br />TOTAL SUM OF $13400.00 FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE CF THE GENERAL, FUND FOR CERTAIN STATED OPERATING EX-
<br />PENSES, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll call, Councilman Spillers being noted absent.
<br />SIDEWALK'COMMITTEE REPaRT.
<br />The Council appointed Sidewalk Committee met May 27 to consider requests for extension of time on sidewalk
<br />notices issued by the City Engineer's office, and the committee wishes to make the following recommendations:
