v" INTRODUCTION CF ORDINANCE REGULATING OUTDOOR ADVERTISING DEVICES AND STRUCTURES ADJACENT TO FREEWAYS, Councilman Granger moved introduction of the ordinance, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. Advancement of City Attorney from Step 3 to Step 4 and the related salary increase was authorized on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. RESOLUTION NO. 2525 AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL AUDITING SERVICES, FISCAL YEAR JULY is 1958 TO a JUNE 30, 1959 was offered by Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll call. (C. G. Uhlenberg & Co.) Councilman Spillers suggested that City Manager be authorized to contact Sacramento in an effort to have the State reach an early decision in widening Woodside Road and also to proceed with the Spruce to Bayshore Freeway project. It was decided that City Manager had the necessary authority to proceed iwr as he saw fit. Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION COLO MORATING MEMORY OF STERLING OAKMANr employee of 26 years se::vice with the City, and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried on roll call. Councilman Granger offered RESOLUTION C012MORATING MEMORY OF HAROLD F. ANDERSON, former Mayor and Council- man of the City, and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present : Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, John S. Rosselli, Louis Weiss, Ray Weyn outh., Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also present were City &pager J. E. Neal-, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, City Attorney Robert J. Costello, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Planning Commissioner Vincent Rambo, Traffic -Engineer Arthur Eskelin., Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Police Chief William Faulstich and Deputy City Clerk Vivian Holmquiste, Councilman Herkner moved approval of the minutes of July 21st and 28th, 1958, as mailed, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. PUBLIC HEARING ON APPLICATION OF PETER J. GRUSARO, 1903 EL CAMINO REAL, FOR USED AUTOMOBILE DEALER'S PERMIT. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. There being no protests, written or oral, Councilman Weymouth moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. Councilman Weymouth moved that the permit be granted as recommended by the Planning Commission, second- ed by Councilman Granger and carried. PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING ESTABLISHMENT OF OFFICIAL PLAN LINES ON -JEFFERSON AVENUE BETWEEN EL CAMINO REAL AND UPTON STREET. The affidavits of publication and mailing were -ordered -filed. After considerable dis- cussions Councilman Herkner moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. Councilman Granger moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 2526 ESTABLISHING OFFICIAL PLAN LINES ON JEFFERSON AVENUE BErWEEN,EL-CAMINO REAL AND UPTON STREET, seanded by Councilman Herkner and carried on roll call, Councilman Spillers being noted absent. Councilman Weiss moved that this Council instruct the City Manager and Plalning Department to re-examine the entire question of Jefferson Avenue widening and its related problems and that such re-examination be co-ordinated With the study requested of the Planning Commission by Council motion of November 18,
