209 PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDS GRANTING EXCEPTION TO SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE, NANCY R. LANGFORD+S APPLICATION FOR PERMISSION TO RESUBDIVIDE LOT 16, BLOCK 3, OAK KNOLL MANOR, into 2 lots, 421 and 96+ frontages upon designated conditions. This matter was continued from the July 28th meeting. After some dis- cussion, Councilman Weiss moved that the exception be denied, seconded by Councilman Herkner and. car- ried on roll call with Councilmen Granger, Herkner, Rosselli and Weiss voting Yes, Councilman Weymouth and Mayor Royer moting No and Councilman Spillers being noted absent. Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2527 ESTABLISHING PREVAILING MINIMUM RATES CF HOURLY WAGES AND RATES FOR HOLIDAY AND OVERTIME WORK IN CONNECTION WITH CONSTRUCTION OF SEWAGE WORKS ENLARGE - MENDS, REDNOOD CITY, seconded by Councilman. Weymouth and carried on roll call, Councilman Spillers P"" being noted absent. h.. Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2528 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRU- CTION OF ENLARGEMENTS AND ADDITIONS TO THE REDWOOD CITY SE1AGE TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL FACILITIES, AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION THEREOF, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried on roll call, Councilman Spillers being noted absent. COMMUNICATIONS. FRIENDLY MOTORS request permission to conduct a "liquidation sale" of all their new and used 1958 DeSotos, Plymouths and DENautomobiles because they are going to have the exclusive Rambler franchise and they must dispose of all new Chrysler products by the end of September. Councilman Rosselli moved that the permit be granted subject to the normal conditions, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried, Councilman Herkner voting No. Mrs. N. Bonora expressed her thanks to the Building Inspector for the -courteous and prompt manner in �.r which her request for the age of a building was handled. Veterans Service Officer, San Mateo County, requested the Council to give consideration to endorsing Proposition I in the November election. Councilman Weiss moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 2529 ENDORSING PROPOSITION I AT THE STATEWIDE NOVEMBER 1958 ELECTION PROVIDING FOR AUTHORIZATION OV $300,0003000 VETERANS BONDSFOR CONTINUANCE OF VETERANS FARM AM HONE LOAN PROGRAM, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried on roll call, Councilman Spillers being noted absent. Petition from the residents of the 1200 block of Crompton Road requesting the approval of the City to remove all of the existing plum trees along the 1200 block of Crompton Road and replacement thereof with Modesto Ash trees. The petitioners are willing to undertake the task at their awn risk and ex- pense and will provide for the removal and disposal of the existing trees and planting of the Modesto Ash at no cost to the city. Councilman Weiss moved to place the matter with the City Manager and he be given authority to proceed, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY DMOMINATION, PINE STREET D&R,OVEMENTS. Councilman Herkner moved to carry this item on the agenda for one week, August 11th, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. Councilman Weymouth moved to introduce an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 856 by adding Section No. 7.1 thereto providing for authority for City to enter into contracts with public agencies for the furnish- ing of sewage service, seconded by Councilman Herkner. Councilman Weiss read a prepared statement after which the motion carried on roll call with Councilman Weiss voting No and Councilman Spillers being noted absent.
