<br />Councilman 07eymouth moved to instruct the City Attorney to prepare the necessary contract with the
<br />Sequoia hospital District based on the proposed formula, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried on
<br />roll call, Councilman Weiss voting No and Councilman Spillers being noted absent.
<br />Councilman Weiss moved that his statement on the question of the amendment to the ordinance covering
<br />sewage rates (Ordinance No. 856) be made a part of the minutes. This motion lost for lack of a second.
<br />Claims 26434 through 26594, totaling.$176,907.67, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Weymouth who also
<br />added to his motion that the bill in the amount of $7s521.)12 for the acquisition of land for Parking Lot
<br />#3 also be paid. The inclusion of this bill was based upon the recommendation of the City Manager and
<br />the City Engineer. The motion was seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried.

<br />Councilman Granger moved that the letter from C. B. Currie with regard to the above mentioned bill be
<br />made a part of the minutes, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried.
<br />We are in a position to complete the acquisition of the creek property from the Arguello heirs and the
<br />Mezes heirs. We have filed the above—entitled suit and have submitted proposed Findings of Fact and Con—
<br />clusions of Law to the title company and they have agreed to insure title upon completion of this matter.
<br />Since I will be away for a couple of weeks commencing August 7 or 8, I should like to camplete this matter
<br />before I leave.
<br />In order to complete the matter, it is necessary that I have two warrants from the City, one in the amount
<br />of $7,000.00 payable to "MARY D. WARBURTON, as Administratkix`of the Estate of Ysabol Arguello Den, deceased;
<br />KATHERINE SILVA, successor to Laura Neist, as Administratrix of the Estate of Jose Ramon Arguello, Jr.,
<br />deceased; MARY D WARBURTON, as Administratrix of the Estate of Ysabel Alviso Arguello, deceased; MARY D.
<br />WARBURT011, as Administratrix of the Estate of Soledad Arguello MacKenzie, deceased; YSABEL ARGUELLO, as
<br />Administratrix of the Estate of Luis L. Arguello, deceased; MARY D. WARBURTON, As Special Administratrix
<br />of the Estate of Frances A. Stone, deceased; MARY D. oTARBURTON, as Administratrix of the Estate of Julius
<br />Santiago Arguello, deceased; ODETTE NORTHOLD, as Administratrix of the Estate of Concepcion Arguello Don,
<br />deceased, and CAMFBELL, CUSTER, WARBURTON & BR1TT(112 AND WAGSTAFFE, DABA & HUISE, their attorneys."
<br />The other check should be in the amount of $52.1.40, payable to Currie, Lebsack & Hannig. This amount I
<br />personally advanced to David E. Lombardi, attorney for the Mezes heirs. I am enclosing herewith,the only
<br />copy of Mr. Lombardi's statement, together with his endorsement showing he has received payment of this

<br />Upon receipt of these warrants, I will obtain the signed stipulation from Mr. Wagstaffe and Ur. Warburton,
<br />attorneys for the Arguello heirs, and proceed to have this matter heard as a default matter. I already
<br />have received'a stipulation from Mr. Lombardi, attorney for the Mezes heirs, in which he agreed to permit
<br />us to proceed without further notice to him.
<br />I should be glad to discussthis matter with the Council or with you at any time. Icy main desire is to
<br />complete this matter before I leave on rr7 vacation. As soon as I return, I will proceed with the acquis—
<br />ition of the other necessary property provided the Council so desires.
