Councilman Granger <br />moved to set the matter for public hearing on March 9th, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2645 AUTHORIZING EXCEPTION TO CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF <br />ORDINANCE NO. 631, BEING THE SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY (WAYNE COURT TRACT), <br />seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING, RADIO TRANSMITTERS AND RECEIVERS. One bid was received from Motorola Communications <br />& Electronics, Inc. of a total of 61,915.00. Councilman Rosselli moved adoption ofRESOLUTION N0. 2646 <br />AWARDING CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING CP RADIO EQUIPMENT; AND REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED, seconded <br />by Councilman Weymouth and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: Letter from L. Be Morgan, Councilman from Burlingame, complimenting two members of the <br />paint crew for their consideration and cooperation when his car ran out of gas on Broadway. <br />Letter from Mrs. Helen Bullock, acting secretary for the Anti -Fluoridation Committee of Redwood City, <br />expressing the Commi.tteels appreciation of the Council's decision to hold a public hearing on the sub- <br />ject of fluoridation being placed on the ballot, and requesting that 45 minutes be alloted to two <br />speakers who would be representing their group. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />Meeting adjourned, 9:45 p. m. <br />R. Dodge, City Clerk <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />February 16, 1959s 8:00 P.M. <br />Invocation was led by Reverend Ralph Benson, North Fair Oaks Community Church, <br />Oil ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, John S. <br />Rosselli, Robert V. Spillers, Ray Weymouth, Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also <br />present were City Attorney Robert J. Costello, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Police Chief William <br />Faulstich, Assessor -Auditor John J. Bropbyv Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Building Inspector <br />S. H. Kreiss and Deputy City Clerk Vivian Holmquist. <br />Councilman Spillers moved approval of the minutes of February, 9, 1959 as mailed, seconded by Councilman <br />Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Granger nominated Ron W. Fields to fill the Vacated position of councilman, seconded by Council- <br />man Herkner. Councilman Rosselli moved that the nomination be closed and a unanimous ballot be cast <br />for Ran Fields, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. The Clerk administered the oath of office <br />to Mr. Fields. Councilman Weymouth moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2647 APPOINTING RONSIA W. FIELDS <br />TO THE OFFICE OF COUNCILMAN OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried <br />unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0, 264$ APPROVING PIANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IETTIN(; <br />OF A CONTRACT FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK OF WEED ABATEMENT IN CONNECTION WITH THE WEED ABATEMENT <br />PROGRAM, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />ACCEPTANCE OF MARINE HARBOR FLOATS. This was recommended by the City Engineer. Councilman Herkner moved to <br />accept the improvements subject to the correction of defects in materials and workmanship appearing <br />within one year (MINUTE ORDER #59-7), seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />PETITION FOR STREET IMPROVMENTS ON PROPOSED JONES CO[W.1 FROM PAGE STREET TO 130 FEET SOUTH OF HOOVER STREET, <br />BETWEEN EIGHTH AND TENTH AVENUES. Councilman Spillers moved to refer the matter to the City Engineer <br />
