After discussion, Councilman Spillers moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded <br />by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved to grant the rezoning and instruct the City Attorney to prepare the necessary <br />ordinance subject to the Planning Commission having architectural control, seconded by Councilman Weymouth <br />and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PLANNING COMMISSION'S RECOMMENDATION TO DENY THE APPLICATION CF SLATT, & PRYOR to amend Magi <br />Sections 4.1, 4.29 4.3 and 4.4 of Zoning Ordinance No. 600 to provide for the rezoning of Lot 28, less <br />northwesterly 1501, Map of Reese Subdivision (798 Redwood Avenue) from R-2 to R -3-G (Garden Apartment) Dist - <br />riot. The affidavits of publication and notice of mailing were ordered filed. There were no written protests,. <br />however, Horace Wheeler, 1234 Hudson Street, was present and stated his objections. After discussion, Council - <br />..J <br />man Spillers moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved to deny the application and terminate the proceedings, seconded by Councilman <br />Weymouth. After further discussion, the motion carried. Councilman Spillers moved to authoriz6,the City <br />Attorney to draw up a resolution of intention to rezone the property from R-2 to R -3-G so the matter could <br />be referred back to the Planning Commission. After discussion, Councilman Spillers withdrew his motion. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the Planning Department bring the matter back to the Planning Commission for <br />further reconsideration and place the matter on their agenda and notify the applicant when the matter will <br />be heard, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner'moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 929 APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $14,551 FROM THE SETER. RENTAL <br />FUND TO THE CAPITAL FUND, 1958 SEWER BOND SERIES ACCOUNT? FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE PAYMENT OF INTEREST ON <br />1958 SEWER BONDS, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried on roll call,Councilman Rosselli being noted <br />absent. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />AUTHORIZE'CITY MANAGER TO ACQUIRE OPTION ON ELKUS PROPERTY AT $1,900. Councilman Granger moved adoption of +� <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2642 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF OPTION TO PURCHASE DESCRIBED REAL PROPERTY <br />BETWEEN MAIN STREET AND WALNUT STREET FOR OPENING AND EXTENSION CF MARSHALL STREET, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers and carried on roll call, Councilman Rosselli being noted absent. <br />Councilman Granger moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2643 AFFIRMING ACTION OF THE PLANNING COMINISSION, GRANTING <br />USE PERMIT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A BOVILING ALIEY, RESTAURANT, AND COCKTAIL LOUNGE IN THE WOODSIDE PLAZA, <br />seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll call, Councilman Rosselli being noted absent. <br />LETTER FCR STREET IMPROVMENTS, PIEDMONT WAY. The Council listened to the people present who requested full <br />street improvments with the elimination of sidewalks. The Mayor requested the people to bring their <br />petition into the City Engineerts office so it can be checked and corrected to eliminate the sidewalks. <br />Councilman Rosselli appeared at 9:15 p. m. <br />PETITION FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS, GLENWOOD AVENUE AND VICINITY. The Council indicated that they would consider <br />elimination of sidewalks and the culvert at the end of Breeze Place. After discussion, Councilman 1 <br />Rosselli moved ato authorize the City Engineer to draw up the plans and specs and eliminate the sideworalks <br />and a culvert at the end of Breeze Place; the City Auditor to advance funds for the plans and specifications, <br />the money to be reimbursed from the assessment district, seconded by Councilman Herkne r and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers stated that he was not in favor of leaving out the sidewalks but he would go along with <br />the motion. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2644 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR PNEUMATIC CONCRETE MIXING <br />AND PLACID MACHINE AND AUTHORZING CALL FOR BIDS, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried unanimously <br />on roll call. <br />RESOLUTION CF INTENTION BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO REZONE WAYNE COURT (a portion of Lots 2, 3, 4, 62 7 and <br />
