Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2658 <br />GRANTING MONTGOMERY WARD AND COMPANY VARIANCE FROM SECTION 5(a) CF ORDINANCE NO. 639 BEING THE SIDE- <br />WALK AND DRIVENAY CRDINANCE,, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2659 GRANTING CONSENT TO THE CITY COUNCIL CF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY TO UNDERTAKE PROCEEDINGS TO ACQUIRE AND CONSTRUCT A SANITARY SEWERAGE SYSTEM AND TO <br />PROVIDE THAT THE COST SHALL BE ASSESSED ON THE DISTRICT BENEFITED UNDER APPROPRIATE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT <br />AND ASSESSMENT BOND PROCEEDINGS, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Granger moved that the Belmont Water Compapy be notified and asked that, before they make the <br />final payment to E. T. Haas Company fcr the extension of their water line through Redwood City, they <br />fix Whipple Avenue after the street has compacted, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Letter requesting permission to erect "thermometer" on flag pole in front of the City Hall. Councilman <br />Herkner moved that the permit be granted to the American Red Cross, seconded by Councilman Weymouth <br />and carried. <br />CLAIM OF J. & N. CHELERES FOR ALLEGED INJURIES CAUSED BY FALL IN FRONT OF 7311--736 MAPLE STREET. Councilman <br />Spillers moved to deny the claim and referred the matter to the insurance carrier, seconded by Council - <br />man Fields and czr'ried. <br />REAL ESTATE COMMITTEE RECOMENDS SALE OF LOr 8, BLOCK 23, REESE SUBDIVISION (career of St. Francis and Red- <br />wood Avenue)`, minimum price $1,500. Councilman Rosselli moved to accept the Go:mnittee+s report, see-- <br />onded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoptionof RESOLUTION NO. 2660 AUTHORIZING SALE CF LOT 8, BLOCK 2, REESE <br />SUBDIVISION AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFCR, seconded by Councilman Fields and <br />carried unanimously on roll call. <br />APPLICATION FCR LIQUIDATION SAIF, BARRY SALES CO., 1909 El Camino Real. Councilman Spillers moved approval <br />of the sale subject to submitting of an inventory as required by Ordinance No. 106, seconded by Council- <br />man Fields and carried. <br />APPEAL PULGAS RANCHO FAMILY CLUB from Planning Commission denial of a Use Permit to construct and operate <br />club on Coonan property recently annexed to City. Councilman Spillers moved that the public hearing <br />be set, for March 23rd, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />FLUORIDATION: Councilman Spillers moved that the Council will not place this matter on theschool ballot <br />or at a special election. The motion lost for lack of a second. Councilman Granger moved that the <br />Council not put this matter on the school bond election or a special election at this time, seconded <br />by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that his remarks indicating that he was not in favor of fluoridation being <br />placed on the April ballot be included in the minutes. This motion lost for lack of a second. <br />COMMUNICATIONSs <br />Bonitw Parlor #102 Native Daughters of the Golden West invited the Council to attend the annual Arbor <br />Day Program on March 7th at 1:30 P. m., Woodside High School. Trees will be planted in Memory of Charter <br />Member Mamie Glennan. <br />
