The Mayor pro --tem asked that this item be carried on the agenda for <br />two weeks, July 6th. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0, 2758 AUTHORTZING AND DIRECTING THE EXERCISE OF THE C= -HELD <br />OPTION TO PURCHASE DESIGNATED REAL PROPERTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPENIM AND EXTENDING ROSE AVENUE (Domer <br />property), seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried on roll call, Mayor Royer being noted absent. _ <br />Fire Chief requests transfer of $1,000 to the Fire Department Motor Vehicle Account. Councilman Granger moved <br />adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 2759 APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $1,000 FROM THE UNBUDGETED UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE <br />OF GENERAL FUND TO FIRE DEPARTMENT MOTOR VEHICLE ACCOUNT, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried on roll <br />call, Mayor Royer being noted absent. <br />APPOINTMENTS TO THE PLANNING COMMSION AND LIBRARY BOARD. Councilman Granger moved to reappoint Vincent Rambo <br />and Leonard Greerwold to the Planning Commission for another three year term (MINUTE ORDER #59-104), seconded <br />by Councilman Fields and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner moved to reappoint Mrs. Helen Myers to the Library Board for a term of three years (MIN- <br />UTE ORDER #59-105)a seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved that the City Clerk check the records for a period of one year and have .these <br />people who have been reappointed to Commissions and Boards appear before the Council and take the loyalty <br />oath (MINUTE ORDER #59-106), seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. <br />� Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0, 2760 AUTHORIZING THE CONDEMNATION OF AN EASEMENT OVER, UNDER, <br />ON AND IN CERTAIN DESCRIBED REAL PROPERTY FOR STREET IMPROVMENTS ON JEFFERSON AVENUE BETWEEN HIGHLAND AVENUE <br />AND FARM HILL BOULEVARD, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried on roll call, Mayor Royer being noted absent. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Peninsula Celebration Association invited the Council to be guests of honor in the coming lith of July parade. <br />California State Automobile Association reported that the American Automobile Association had just announced <br />that Redwood City has. received a citation in the AAA Pedestrian Program Appraisal for not having a single <br />pedestrian fatality during the year 1958• <br />Notice of important meeting of the Peninsula Highway Policy Committee for Tuesday, June 23rd at 8:00 p. m. <br />in Court Room #5, Hall of Justice and Records, Redwood City. <br />INSURANCE COMMITTEE REPORT: Councilman Weymouth reported that they had received a bid from the Track Insurance <br />Exchange at a greatly reduced cost from our present contract with Hartford Insurance Company. If the City <br />accepts this new offer, they will have the same insurance coverage as they now annoy with the exception that <br />our own Attorney will possibly have a little additional work to do that will not require additional help. <br />Taking everything into consideration, the Committee recommended they accept the bid of the Truck Insurance <br />Exchange. Councilman Spillers moved to accept the report of the Committee and authorized the City Manager <br />to proceed in accordance with the recommendation of the Committee (MINUTE ORDER #59-107), seconded by am <br />Councilman Herkner and carried on roll call, Councilman Granger voting no and Mayor Royer being noted absent. <br />Mayor pro -tem Rosselli reported that the Personnel Board asked that the Council appoint two of its members to a <br />committee to meet regularly with the Personnel Board. Upon approval of the Council, he appointed Council- <br />man Fields and himself to the committee. <br />sm <br />Councilman Spillers moved that Councilman Fields be appointed Mayor pro -tem through July 6th. Councilman Fields <br />reported that he would be out of town from June 26th through July 1st. Councilman Spillers then moved that <br />Councilman Fields be appoint0d. Mayor pro -tem to June 26th. It was the general opinion of the Council that <br />Councilman Fields should have a chance to act as Mayor for at least one Council meeting. Councilman Spillers <br />then changed his motion and moved that Councilman Granger be Mayor pro -tem through June 30th and Councilman <br />Fi6lds be Mayor pro -tem from July ist through July 6th (MINUTE ORDER #59-108), seconded by Councilman Herkner <br />
