3315 - <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2834 DETERMINING THE VALUE OF PUBLICLY -OWNED PROPERTY WITHIN THE TERRITORY TO BE ANNEXED <br />TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, DESIGNATED AS "LESLIE ANNEXATION NO. 3-A". Councilman Fields moved adopt- <br />ion of the foregoing resolution, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2835. RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT <br />mom PROTEST TO THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY CF REDWOOD CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGN- <br />ATED AS "LESLIE ANNEXATION NO. 3-A" HAS NOT BEEN MADE BY OWNERS OF ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE OF PRIVATE <br />PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY AS SHOWN BY THE LAST EQUALIZED ASSESSMENT ROLL, NOR BY THE OWNERS OF ONE- <br />HALF OF THE VALUE OF PUBLICLY -OWNED PROPERTY WITHIN SAID TERRITORY AS DETERMINED BY SAID COUNCIL. Coun- <br />cilman Weymouth moved adoption of the foregoing resolution, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried <br />on roll call. <br />INTRODUCTION OF AN ORDINANCE CF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF RED- <br />WOOD CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED "LESLIE ANNEXATION NO. 3-A"' AND HEREIN DESCRIBED, <br />AND HEREIN ANNEXING SAID TERRITORY TO SAID CITY OF REDWOOD CITY. Councilman Granger moved a doption of <br />the foregoing Ordinance, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />CONTINUATION OF PUBLC HEARING ON THE ADOPTION OF AN CRDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 758 PERTAINING TO <br />WEIGHTS CF VEHICLES and establishing routes. Public hearing was declared open. City Clerk reported <br />receiving 24 letters from truck operators, paving companies, real estate firms, etc., favoring the pro- <br />posed amendment to truck ordinance. Petition bearing names of 106 property owners objecting to the <br />proposed amendment, also communication from the Lincoln P. T. A. also protesting, was reported by the <br />City Clerk. <br />The following persons appeared and spoke in protest: <br />P,,,,, R. Fisher, 2512 Whipple Avenue, representing Lincoln P. T. Carl, 2807 Hopkins Avenue <br />Hubert Brown, 6 Hillview Avenue <br />Howard Lund, 115 Alameda <br />Stanton Mullen, 1548 Whipple Avenue <br />Florence Hauch, 3338 Page Street <br />Paul Tessendorff, 45 Claremont Avenue <br />The following persons spoke in favor of the amendment: <br />Arthur D. Janssen, Architect of the School Districts <br />C. J. Wood, 3638 Haven Avenue, representing E. G. C. A. <br />Warren Mendell, Belmont, representing E.G.C.A., Member of Belmont City Council <br />Dori Graham, representing Town of Woodside Council <br />Jack Garcia, 1927 Madison Avenue <br />Mr. C. J. Wood, representing the Engineering and Grading Contractors Association, presented a petition <br />containing 230 names of persons who are residents, merchants, persons employed or operating their bus- <br />iness in Redwood City who are in favor of the amendment. <br />After discussion, Councilman Granger moved the hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Rosselli. It <br />POO <br />being understood that the hearing could be reopened to hear any new evidence, motion carried, Council- <br />man Fields voting no. Councilman Granger then moved that the Council forego action at this time, the <br />_information gathered to be taken under advisement, to b e studied further and action be taken on or be- <br />fore September ]lith. Motion was seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried, Councilman Fields voting <br />no. <br />CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING - ABANDONMENT OF STORM DRAINAGE EASEMENT OVER LOTS 12 2, 19, 20 AND 21, <br />SILVER MANOR SUBDIVISION. This matter was discussed at the August 3rd meeting and laid over for fur - <br />then study and inspection. After further discussion, Councilman Spillers moved that the public hearing <br />be closed, seconded by Councilman Weymouth.
