`i C9 `i <br />CITY AUDITOR REQUESTS PERMISSION TO CORRECT THE 1959-60 TAX ROLL in accordance with Section <br />4986.2 of the Taxation and Revenue Code. Arb. Blk, 382 Lot 5-C, Yuey Gong - old amount <br />$50.12, new amount $45.32 - acquired by City for parking lot; Arb. Blk. 555 Lot 5-A, <br />May Harvey, old amount $86.86, new amount $88.10 - clerical error. Parking District <br />No. 1 - Arb. Blk. 382 Lot 5-C, Yuey Gong, old amount $20.05, new amount $18.12 - acquired <br />by City for Parking Lot. Councilman Rosselli moved to approve cancellation of the <br />taxes as requested subject to approval of the City Attorney (MINUTE ORDER #60-167), <br />seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilman Fields <br />and Mayor Weymouth being noted absent. 01 <br />Appeal from the Board of Adjustments granting of the use permit to Earl and Helen Gregory <br />on property located at 514 El Camino Real for permission to operate a cocktail lounge <br />and install a sign. Councilman Stehle moved to set this matter for public hearing on, <br />July 25th, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Carl Sjoberg submitted a letter tendering his resignation as Redwood City Planning <br />Commissioner. Councilman Herkner moved to accept the resignation with regret and <br />thanking him for his past work (MINUTE ORDER #60-168), seconded by Councilman Rosselli <br />and carried. <br />J. A. Spence, Assistant District Engineer for the Division of Highways, letter regarding <br />the tentative date for construction on the proposed signal modification and channelization <br />..ri <br />project at Broadway and E1 Camino Real in Redwood City. It is estimated that the project <br />can be advertised in August following the budget of funds, and construction could <br />probably start in September, 1960. <br />Notice from the PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION in the matter of the application of SOUTHERN <br />PACIFIC COMPANY for authority to increase zone passenger fares between San Francisco, <br />San Jose and Vasona, and intermediate points. No Council action was necessary. <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION recommended that the City Council proceed with the <br />planning at the Yacht Harbor as far as Stanford launching ramp and Showboat, Inc. is <br />concerned. The Commission agrees in principle and location of these facilities, subject <br />to the working out of the final details. The Commission also suggested that a <br />committee be formed, consisting of Wally Harder, Dick Wilkinson, Alfred Morton, John <br />Mackenhausen and a member of the City Council to consider questions regarding leasing <br />arrangements, berthing rates and plan revision. Councilman Stehle moved to appoint <br />Councilman Herkner, Wally Harder, Dick Wilkinson, Alfred Morton and John Mackenhausen <br />as a committee, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION recommended that the City Council reactivate the Tree <br />Committee to incorporate plans for the lining of Whipple Avenue with trees from E1 <br />Camino Real to Bayshore Highway in continuing the beautification of the entrances of <br />
